Oh my, it has been a while that I've written something here! Just joining team "Nervous" for this evening, haha!
I just made the mistake of reading the live stream chat. There is someone heavily hating on Zhenya, saying horrible insults and hoping for her to make mistakes... just disgusting.
I'll ignore it though and will enjoy Zhenya's performance now
 
She was too nervous...good thing most of the ladies field was a mess today. :drama:
 
We know she can redeem herself on the FS even though today was so much better than at SCI. Go Zhenya!

EDIT: Not bad at all! 0.40 to Mai and 0.09 to Rika. That is so close!
 
well at least its anyone's game for the top spot now.

i hope she isn't being too hard on herself...you can see she is really angry. i hope she is able to turn that energy into fuel for the long. hugs zhenya :ghug:

Only 0.40 between her and first. If she skates clean tomorrow she can still make 2nd or even 1st depending on how well Rika and Mihara do. None of the ladies today skated clean. This GP really is a mess lol
 
I hate seeing her with teary eyes. Poor thing, she was so nervous. I like the dress better now. I really hope she gains back her confidence. Good luck tomorrow <3
 
I get so sad whenever she's looking nervous... Zhenya is probably putting so much pressure on herself. But nonetheless, I still think she did great. At SCI she managed to jump from 7th to 3rd, and I'm sure she will manage in the FP tomorrow. And the point difference between her and first place are like 0.30-40 something I think, therefore I'm not that worried. Our Zhenya is a fighter and I believe in her.
 
ugh! This program is not working for her. She is too uncomfortable with the music! She had such a good shot to be in 1st today with a score over at least 70!

I caught the K&C part, and the microphone was not turned off after her score - Brian and Tracy were giving her a pep talk, trying to cheer her up. They both said "you have it in you, you trained so hard, trust your training..."

Her nerves got the better of her today. Still not what it was at Skate Canada. She can still win this all.
 
Something positive: she got more GOE on the axel than expected.

I editted my post because I dont know if I am allowed to talk about exact numbers until the competition is over.
 
Rika is a bit of a wildcard because she will definitely go for the two 3As, which can be a blessing or a curse. She's only 0,09 points ahead, Zhenya can beat her.
 
Basically a three way tie for first so all comes down to the FS. She is getting there though. I think she needs to let go of the pressure at this point and just feel the performance like she knows she can do. Let go of it and just feel the music and follow the program that she has rehearsed many times. Use the force, Zhenya, use the force. :)

Also- Has Zhenya been struggling with the flip recently? I don’t know if it’s the nerves or back issues that are getting to her... hopefully she will be incredible tomorrow!!
