Evgenia Medvedeva

In the last 8 hours Med's WTT EX got 300k views !!
It has more than 600k views now!!

I watched it about an hour ago and it's gained 100k views since then! Most of the comments are in Japanese and they're talking about how cute she is and that they're fans now ahahaha was there the same reaction when she first did this EX?

this version a little bit of a different and much better i think))).
And general... imo there's more attention to WTT than to summer shows.

It's not surprising that it gets a lot of views IMO, but I'm happy it is getting that much attention. It's super fun and adorable, and I'm one of those people who can't stand it when programs from young girls are just labeled "juniorish" and trashed for not fitting into that "mature adult elegant" box. As if a bit more diversity could hurt. We need more skaters like Evgenia who just do what they love and have so much fun with. I spammed the video around my old anime fan friends too and they all love it
The only thing I'm sad about is that she didn't skate it in Helsinki!:dbana:

The other one from last year has over 1,400,000 views so I hope this one surpasses it honestly, it was so much fun and you could feel how energetic and excited she was. I prefer this version since of course there are quite a few differences, and it's so hard to watch the beginning without smiling!

Her exhibition programs are so much fun to watch, her personality really shines through and it makes me adore her even more. :luv17:

I also like Sailor Moon EX, just I enjoyed Vogue ;) If only her competitive programs had that fun factor for me  :dev2:

I agree! She deserves to have some happy, lighthearted program next season instead of gloomy symbolism of her trainer's traumas. Maybe something from musicals or Ravel? She likes movies' OSTs so maybe Driving Miss Daisy or The Grand Budapest Hotel?

She is gorgeous in red. It really shows off her beauty

Even thinking about it makes me worry about her :palmf: Every time someone speaks about quad for ladies I'm totally scared. On the other hand Eteri and Sergey are very good coaches. I don't think they will take unnessesary risks on her health. At least I hope so.

okey... now i'm too.... gonna start to worry about Evgenia....
Have you seen it? Her team-mates Anna and Sasha are doing 4T-3T and 4S3T? http://www.goldenskate.com/forum/sh...dies-skating&p=1720297&viewfull=1#post1720297. :eekn:
I'm almost 100% sure she's going to try it... or already tried... since her 3S is much bigger now...

Well, for this Olympics her gold medal isn't threatened in the least by the quadsters. After this we'll have to see what she's planning to do. But for all we know she could pull out a quad from her pocket next season.

We're all know how competitive she is. When "the little one" on her ice are doing it.. She is definitely going to try. I remember her interview about it.
But I'm more than 100% sure she will not put it to her program. She can't take any risk.
But even trying to train it are still a risk.

Marin Honda is talking about 2 quads and she is eligible. Of course, talking =/= doing but since she is going to have a huge push come Seniors, if she actually lands just the one, it's suddenly going to be interesting.

I am sure she has. IMO, she would never have mentioned it, if it wasn't already cooking in the background. Now I could be wrong, but from all I've seen from her (like her talking about trying -Lo and then suddenly showing them during the practice for the next competition) I get the feeling she's careful and wouldn't just speak unless she has some security that it's possible. Someone mentioned a few pages back she's like Yuzuru, in that they both want to be very sure that something is absolutely ready before the introduce it. I think this extends to all talk.

It's going to take more than one imaginary quad for Marin to beat Evgenia's backloaded Rippons/Tanos. Unless, she's planning to backload her program as well. She's my favorite Japanese lady because Mao's gone, but she has no chance in hell at OGM unless Evgenia falls...a lot. And that's assuming she makes it out of Japan at all.

I was reading the comments on her EX video (do not judge! I was curious :o:) and I was wondering why there were many comments from people who seemingly weren't into FS, and it turns out there's quite a few articles written about it! :yahoo: It's always nice to see her get some love from non-fans, I hope it continues to go viral~

An amusing quote from TV Overmind:

It’s one thing to be a great cosplayer. It’s another to be a talented figure skater who has a real thing for Sailor Moon and incorporates cosplay into the routine. It’s also a bonus when said figure skater is extremely attractive.

Zhenya is growing up to be quite the gorgeous young lady, isn't she? :) Though I'd prefer if they kept this stuff to a minimum before she becomes an adult...:slink:

Wow, Eteri's girls are something ! :hap57:

However it's still early to say if they can keep those jumps to a senior level.

And you are right. Because of her competitive spirit she will surely work on 4S even harder now.

But what can we do, except trusting her coaches. Eteri is very close with her and she won't let her get injured. :roll5:

And at least we know that Eteri and Sergei know how to train quads

I love Marin but she's not that consistent and next Japan nationals will be a "mortal kombat" )))

We have to see if she's making it to the team.

But Elizabeth has quads and she already showed them at practice. She did great at Worlds and she wants to fight for medals desperately.

I so agree with you. He's her role model and she has the same champion spirit as him. She won't show any new jump unless she lands it successfully at least 90% during her practices in Moscow.

It's always nice to see her get some love from non-fans, I hope it continues to go viral~

Thank you for all the links! I knew that Sailor moon is still very popular in Asia but didn't think her Ex gala will have so much success outside Asia. ))) It's great!

Zhenia doesn't need quad to win Olympic for sure. If she does it in gala or ex, even it's UR it's still remarkable.
