This girl is a BOSS. She didn't even tell Eteri she was going to do it? :rofl: I feel pity for those who can only focus on her flaws, the girl is a champion through and through. That combo was the highlight of this competition which left me with very mixed emotions, so thank you, Evgenia. For the first time I was really transfixed by her lp and it gave me chills.
 
That 3S-3T-3T got invalidated? I haven't seen the protocols yet. Still, it was a great performance.

Nope. Doing extra jumps results in invalidating of that jump only, not the whole combination. So just the second 3T, third jump overall didn't count.

She knew what she was doing. Her mentality is that of a champ, this is purely psychological, look what I can. To think she's so young! Her mentality is incredible.
 
Merry Christmas! Zhenia is heading to Madrid on the 29th to be in Javi's Revolution on Ice. Hopefully the event is successful and well attended!

The men should take one or two lessons from Russian ladies. About how to keep up your mentality under huge pressure.

Last week 80% of the tickets or so were already sold, so it's looking good :yes:
It was so nice of Zhenya to agree to go, because Javier said they can't really pay that much to the attending skaters and they are partly doing it as a favor to him. Of course we already know what a sweet person she is, but we keep seeing it again and again. I hope she has a lot of fun in Spain!

That's awesome to hear! Good on Zhenya.

The lineup of skaters include:
Miko Ando (:luv17: of course!)
Kiira Korpi
Misha Ge
Shawn Sawyer

Couples include Radford\Duhamel, Donahue/Hubbell, Capellini/Lannotte, and Besedin/Polishuk.

David Wilson is part of the choreographic team.
 
One good thing about Evgenia and I wonder if the Russian Fed is thinking about it, is that here is their chance for a lasting leading lady. That is one thing that I think would do wonders for not just them but the skating too. The rapid change of winners does show the depth of their talent, no doubt but at the same time, having a champion that is able to stick around on the scene and not disappear has even more value I think.

We'll know more next season but I think Zhenya's on her way there.
