1. First of all it's WTT. Overscoring is its manual I guess. Japanese ladies also received generous scores not to mention Yuzu's positive GOE on 1A.

Excuse you. It was a brilliant 1A at the end of the program out of a spread eagle and those 0.09 were totally deserved

While at Yuzu, I hope we get a pic of these two, it'd be a shame if we don't! Of course they might do the quad battle tomorrow too, fingers crossed we get video!

Hmm yes but I still think her score should have been a little closer to her Worlds score, because I think 78 PCS
An even though her Lutz is on a flat edge, doesn't that still count as a ! because it's an unclear edge? It's not on an outside edge... but it wouldn't even affect her score too much lol.

when Mai got 70PCS........ +7points from WC.... Evgenia should've got 80+......

When so many UR's and Other's "e" or "!" haven't been called today why hers "!" should be? btw i don't agree about her Lz today. Her Lz was clean for me. (and she said a few times that she's working on her Lz) and i see she improved it already.

Medvedeva’s grade of execution scores from the judges were primarily threes (the highest possible) and she received nothing lower than a two from the panel. That in itself was phenomenal for the star, who will enter the Olympic season as a prohibitive favorite to take the gold in Pyeongchang next year.

“I have no words to describe my feeling,” said the 17-year-old. “I could not imagine getting a score of 160 like that.”

The elegant Medvedeva displayed beautiful line and edge this night and said she felt serene on the ice.

“I was totally calm and composed today,” Medvedeva stated. “I am over the moon with my performance.”

So please don't take what I have said as bashing or trolling or whining because I didn't intend it to be that way and was just trying to give my opinion on a heavily debated subject.

Let me put it simple. You have all the other threads on this board for this. You asked, people answered you that yes, she had a flutz, yes, she's improved it to !, yes, she has gotten calls apart from Worlds, and yet you are going on and on, especially about Zhenya being favored, about some potential future situations that may never happen, but oh hey, they concern you, while ignoring what you're being told. You don't agree, that's cool but this is not the place.

This board has rules. This is a FanFest. You have the Edge and dozens of threads for this, including the WTT Day 3 competition thread to explain why the judges are wrong, why you don't agree with them, why she should be getting this or that, why she is this or that, not to even mention that whether WTT scores should or should not be counted has literally nothing to do with this thread. You'll have plenty of people nodding their head at you there. Next post and I'm reporting you.

FanFests are safe havens on this board for fans of a particular skater. Of course, you can criticize and Zhenya's lutz has been the topic of conversation here before but they are primarily meant as positive places towards the skater. If we don't agree after an exchange, we leave it at that. Especially in Zhenya's case where threads about how awful she is pop up sometimes on a daily basis, this place really is a haven.

This is the thread for today's FS so you can talk about anything more there.

I think she is, by many people but here, there are many who don't like her and to keep this still a nice place, let me just say, be prepared to see all sorts of things, including her looks and personality. I know atsumiri is often in the comp threads too and well. There are valiant battles to be fought every single time. I think she's an absolutely lovely young lady who yes, has flaws in her skating, as literally every single skater does (including my ultimate fave, <-- easily spotted who, who fought a Lip situation once upon a time) but with her, in the majority of cases, criticism loses all perspective here. Anyway, just be prepared if you go there.

I honestly have no idea if she has any endorsements! I don't recall anyone speaking of it but someone else may know.

Ahhh thanks for the warning. If she were Japanese or American she'd probablybe swimming in endorsements by now. It's shame bc I've seen a lot of people insulting her nationality, and to think there's the possibility that she can't even compete at the 2018 Olympics bc of the doping scandal, is really unfair.

I think even if she doesn't have any personal sponsors her club might have some. Sambo 70 is really popular, has powerful skaters and is a brand itself. Also she designed skating clothes for one of companies so maybe she gets this kind of cooperation
I've always liked Russian skaters and after Sochi I think like the majority of fandom expects me to feel bad about it I really hate when on chats people are cheering on Mai or Satoko or Ashley and later Evgenia skates and I'm too afraid to openly cheer on her. And it's not fair because she worked so hard to be where she is. In one of interviews Eteri said that Zhenya isn't natural jumper or spinner so she had to work harder than girls who were somehow more gifted.

(I love Yuzu too but his flip even now is far from being perfect. I guess he considers jumping/training all kinds of quads but quad flip )
