Evgenia Medvedeva

I know that Liza Nugumanova was training 3A off the ice. Also Eteri mentioned that she had girl in her group capable of jumping 3A

Ah, not anyone old enough for seniors then. I think the 3A is attempted more by Japanese skaters. But then again, Pyeongchang has a lot of other very talented juniors moving up, and even without a 3A it will be a tough competition.

I think it's because the majority of japanese ladies is more comfortable with Axel than the majority of russian. Zhenya's 3S is better than her 2A so it's obvious that she will prefer trying 4S than 3A. However I'm surprised that she isn't considering 4T. Also the only Japanese skaters known to me who are attempting 3A are Wakaba and Marin Honda

Japanese skaters. khmm.... Mao retired..
old enough for seniors - just Wakaba. And she did her first 3a on practice here. so I can't called it stable. or that she will be ready to jump 3a in next season. i really doubt it. but we will see))

Rika Kihira already has a very good 3A and is working on the quad, it's going along decently. She's ineligible for PC though. Marin is working on both the 3A and a quad and we've actually seen Wakaba's successful 3A, unlike Marin's talk.

Rika has quite stable 3A it's why I didn't put her into "attempting group". It was the first time I saw Wakaba's 3A so I don't think it's 100% stable. Anyway ladies' field is getting more and more interesting. Definitely Russian skaters helped pushing it forward

I'm surprised Zhenya hasn't signed up with major sports brands? She has won multiple golds and is breaking records ffs. Come on, Nike or Adidas! :)

why everyone saying "Tsarina"? i'm always curious when i see it, because i'm russian and i think there's no such word. We usually use "tsaritsa" (царица) or "tsarevna" (царевна), but i've never heard anyone saying tsarina ;)
no offense, just trying to teach you some russian language

UPDATE: oh well, now i get it :D

Is the difference between царица and царевна that one is the wife of a tsar and the other is a woman who is tsar(ina) in her own right?

some afterwords

Figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva became the main newsmaker at the World Team Trophy team tournament. A two-time world and European champion, who has not lost a single tournament this season, has repeatedly updated world records, and at the final start in Tokyo, she not only won convincing victories in short and free programs, but also updated her world records twice.

After the competition, she said that fantastic scores - 160 in a free program - were a real surprise for her.

"To be honest, I wasn't expecting this. It's so cool! So beautiful! I got great pleasure from this unreal season, from the work done, from so many people that I met, and who I know now. My life has changed dramatically. And I'm very happy! Thanks to my coaches, my team, relatives, who always support me, and, of course, to the fans!

I'm glad that I participated at the team tournament, and was able to contribute to the team result. Today I came out on the ice absolutely confident, there was no shadow of doubt, uncertainty in myself. But anyway, getting 160 points it is... something! I wasn't expecting this! And once again I repeat that I'm just happy now".
