Is it common for skaters to switch the type of blades they use before Olympic season? :confused: Not sure why she decided to make the change but I've always found those blades to be the nicest so no complaints from me. :p I wonder why she decided to go through with it.

Mao Asada changed her blade 12/13 → 13/14

Also Zhenya changed her boots last season. (Edea ice fly → piano) So I think she changed her blade because she just feel comportable with new one :)

I'd really call it messed up. She didn't fall, underrotated or two footed it - it was just a hang on turned into a spin.
Besides ice in ice shows is usually worse than during the competitions.

The ice rink is very small. I was surprised that she even tried 3-3-3 on that ice. This is the only video we have but according to the reports she did 3-3-3 several times. And after jumping 10-11 triples before that you can understand how tired she must have felt. After all she's not a robot ;)

Actually Evgenia and Alina both broke their legs once in their career. Evgenia didn't skate for 6 months back then. She also had an elbow fracture at Skate America in 2015 after she crashed into the boards during her first practice.

Alina broke her leg and arm in 2015 and had several month off the ice before coming back to team Tutberidze.
