This is not entirely true.
The ruling says that no coach or doctor who has had an athlete previously involved with doping is allowed to be in PC so for example, someone like Eteri isn't going to have any problems. I doubt any doctor working with them has had any either.
They also say that
so basically, they will ban anyone who in their minds was connected to Sochi. Since figure skating is a sport that wasn't really touched by that, it should still be ok, provided the choice is to go. It's not going to be easy, what with the invitations, paperwork and all, of course but they should be there.
Thank you for clarification Yatagarasu! As long as all Athletes will have an equal support it makes it better, I read somewhere (maybe due to inappropriate translation) that it wouldn't be exactly the case.
Just to be clear I am against doping and was expecting the ban, but not collective and not for athletes who have nothing to do with Sochi. Also, I am not seeing the ability to compete under Neutral Flag is a simple option and easy thing to do as some people might think. It's easy to say that Athletes should have to chin up and fight back but we all know it's not, there are many variables involved.
That's a good sign!
