Thank you for clarification Yatagarasu! As long as all Athletes will have an equal support it makes it better, I read somewhere (maybe due to inappropriate translation) that it wouldn't be exactly the case.

Just to be clear I am against doping and was expecting the ban, but not collective and not for athletes who have nothing to do with Sochi. Also, I am not seeing the ability to compete under Neutral Flag is a simple option and easy thing to do as some people might think. It's easy to say that Athletes should have to chin up and fight back but we all know it's not, there are many variables involved.
 
Eteri and part of their team will be there anyways with Moris...

Well I can't say I'm familiar with this kind of stuff, but are you sure "neutral" athletes can't bring staff?

And regarding costs, I'm sure Evgenia and Eteri can afford booking some hotel rooms for a week + pay for the other miscellaneous costs involved.

As Yatagarasu explained doctors and some other stuff should be allowed. But still it's not clear to me yet, time will show how it would work if it's happened.

Obviously, I also don't know myself and might be wrong but think it's not that easy as book hotel :)

For instance, Russian federation was planning to rent a rink somewhere in Japan if I remember correctly, so skaters can train there before and in-between team events. It would help acclimatization and etc. And I am sure there are many other small things like food and etc. For instance usually team has their own cook as local food might be too unusual for athletes.
I mean it's all organizational issues with which usually official representers/managers are dealing with so in case of neutral flag who would be responsible for that....However, I do hope it's all manageable.

No problem and yes, there was a lot of misinformation flying around at first. I think it probably came from the part where the panel issues invitations etc, but on the other hand, I do think that considering skating as a sport is clean, it is going to make this part much easier on everyone. ISU itself is going to help, I'm sure. I'm hoping at least. Well provided they go and at the moment, I am refusing to believe they won't go because it's just unthinkable for me.

About Japan, since from what we know now, all Russian skaters are eligible, and the Team event would still go ahead, though it'd be Team OAR, I think they wouldn't change the plans they have now. Japan certainly isn't going to give them any grief, and the Russian skating federation is still allowed to do this, so it should all be good, knock on wood, a million times.

In the end though, even if they go, the pressure on them, especially Zhenya is going to be through the roof. But lets see first if she's going to go or not. We might know as early as tomorrow (or today really), considering that Putin has that giant gathering where he's giving a speech.

I really think Evgenia should return to Russia, heal completely from her injury, train hard and go to Korea in full force. I hope Zhenya and the other Russian skaters decide to compete. I think it would be nice if fans outside Russia could send encouraging messages for her, Voronov, etc in their social media.

I agree she must go. She or Alina will win.
 
After some time to reflect, I think those athletes should be allowed to go, even if it’s under a neutral flag. They’re Russians all the same no one can take that away, even if the flag isn’t there. I just fear the public reaction, because it might be negative. I guess it all depends on what Putin says.

Yes, you are right. All organizational hustle must be not easy but manageable. Now we just have to wait. Whatever decision will be, I want all of them to go, I would be proud of them with any results. Just hoping considering all moments the right decisions would be made by all parties involved.
 
If hope all fans of Russian skaters will not watch the game( on site, through broadcast, etc. ) in case no Russian skater competes. It will make some consequence. At least reduce their revenue.
 
I am most encouraged by the words that the athletes have worked hard all their careers for this and it's very important to them. I feel so relieved though obviously we should wait for the 12th but his words are basically a green light!

I haven't heard anything, what did you read?
The last I heard was when the injury was announced, the Italians said that their Russian sources stated she doesn't have to participate because they'd give her a bye due to all her achievements, but I've not actually read anything that would indicate she would skip.

Worry not. She has received an outpouring of support on social media, not just to her but to all the Russian skaters. Also there will be lots of Japanese fans there and I know how supportive they are of everybody. I would not be surprised if they all took Russian flags to support them just as they have all this time. :)
