Evgenia Medvedeva

Yeah but Radionova isnt the one smashing all of Kim's record. You should see all the korean comments on evgenia in youtube
Honestly the ones who comment on evgenias videos are not necessarily korean, usually it was just kim's biggest and most dedicated fans whether they are korean or not. Just imagine them like retired boyband fans who get called the new boyband is good or better than their bias. Beside most of koreans are not comfortable using english so usually they will just leave a comment using koreans languange. Actually FS is not that famous anymore in SK after yunas retirement. Most of people doesnt even know who will represent SK in FS. And i think the generall public wouldnt care much about who wins the women FS in olympics as long as it wasnt sotnikova. They might even be cheering for evgenia cause she is pretty. Atleast they wouldnt cheer like the russians audience did on the stadium when mao fall on her SP or keep cheering their own country in other skater kiss and cry moment cause koreans know they wouldnt win anyway.

If I were Evgenia I would switch back to Dance For Me Wallis for the Olympics. It's just an overall better program. Better beginning... better step sequence... better choreographic sequence. It does drone on a bit after in the final few jump passes but having just rewatched it I don't think it's too bad. It just feels more artistic overall while the Anna Karenina program feels a bit gimmicky. The beginning is just not as memorable or epic. While I liked seeing a more harder step sequence, it doesn't play to Medvedeva's strengths. The choreographic sequence is just a big mess and doesn't make any sense. The Anna Karenina program does flow pretty well but it doesn't give me anything to chew on.

The Dance For Me Wallis program is just far more memorable. It kind of had both an "artsy" and "epic" feeling to it that I don't get out of the Anna Karenina program.

Maybe switch to Dance For Me Wallis for the Olympics and Anna Karenina for worlds? (or bring both the Olympics and use one in the Team Event... though that seems extremely risky).

Another thing I'd do is to reduce the ending heartbeats in the SP to one beat. I actually like the middle voiceover, though I think I'd have a different pose.

Although I agree Dance With Me was an excellent program, I suspect Evgenia doesn’t like to repeat programs. And she hasn’t yet skated AK to her normal high standards in competition yet, so I’d be surprised if she tossed it in for a program with the exact same layout from two years ago.

I thought the AK step sequence was brilliant the first time i saw it at Japan open. I rewatched that part several times, she came out with such fire at that event, debuting the new program. :drama:

The Olympic program is the one she's going to be most remembered by and she should bring her best to it... which is Dance For Me Wallis. It just has more to remember in it, she performs it better, and it's just a better overall image. And one other thing is that she projects more and is communicating outware more in the Dance For Me Wallis program while the AK program is more insular. AK isn't horrible, but it's just not as good. It'll be fine for Worlds.

[edit]

The main thing I'm trying to say is that Dance For Me Wallis is more "elevating" and you want an "elevating" program.

The lack of solid news of Evgenia has started to drive me crazy... Literally. This night I dreamt of her doing a spin on her arm and the audience going wild but the judges counted the element as a fall and gave her 0's in performance because of that :rofl2:
Lawrd....

Anyhow, I just hope that if she competes that means she's healed up fully. And even if she hasn't, and let's say she messes up a few jumps and loses to Alina, I don't understand how this would be such a dramatic, life-changing moment as some members here are making it seem. It would break her streak of wins, but that wouldn't mean suddenly Alina is overall better than her. Alina CAN'T beat Evgenia if they both skate clean, perhaps not even if Evgenia has one fall.. So I just hope she stays healthy, careful, and doesn't try to spin on her arms :scard8:

Dance For Me Wallis is a programm for a teenager. Evgenia now has more maturity. This programm does not suit her now.

And I would really like to see last season FS WITHOUT creepy and insensitive voiceovers. The music itself was beautiful, Zhenya looked gorgeous in her dress and there is programme build up just perfect for standing ovation at the end of it

AK is great but it has too much in your face gesticulation and really want her to medal with a programme to remember :luv17:

Too many of her programs have some weird, slow ending where even if you wanted to clap you need to hold back. It just kind of ruins the mood in my opinion. I'd like the programs to be such that you can clap as soon as you would naturally feel like it.

:sad21: i can't cope.

I think she seems happy with her AK program and I would like her to win with something she truly connects and enjoys rather than with a program that will please a few people. I like all of her programs (I obviously have some favorites) but at the end of the day what truly makes me happy are her satisfied faces after doing a performance she loves.

Evgenia was shot at New Year's tv show Голубой Огонёк (Blue Twinkle), which will be broadcasted at New Year's night (most likely when she still was injured). Actually it is main default russian show for that time where only the most popular actors, singers, etc. participates. Nevertheless, it can be rather dissapointing news for many since this show, especially among young people, is associated with boring pastime for old housewifes and, generally speaking, people from last century/soviet time. I don't know similar shows in America but I am sure there are something like that too. While it can improve her reputation among middlebrows - it definitely can ruin it for the youth.

I loved her FS from her first season as a senior but I do like her current AK one. I think it would be a good choice if she decides to compete at the Olympics as a neutral athlete - in a way it's like she would be carrying a piece of her country with her.

I don't think anyone would care, since young people simply don't watch TV. :)

Also, Sofia Velikaya, I have participated on some competitions with her... Now I'm thinking of overcoming myself and watching excerpts from this show. :)
