Med can still win this. But even if she lose European it does not matter. Adelina Sonitkova lost European and won Olympics. No big deal.

Any idea what is the crowd shouting in this video? It's something that I often hear used when local (Russian) skaters are on the ice.

Oh wow I hadn't even noticed!! Has she gained flexibility? :reye: that's really impressive, and I love that she's always working to get better!
Yes, but it's also noticeable that here at Europeans her spin traveled a bit. The centering was much better at NHK.Oh wow I hadn't even noticed!! Has she gained flexibility? :reye: that's really impressive, and I love that she's always working to get better!

Well considering it's a new addition (and considering it's her first competition after a 2 months break) I think it's to be expected

She still has the chance at gold, her fs at worlds got 154.4 for the same layout, the best fs Alina did is at IDF and got 151, even if they inflate alina's pcs by a whole 2 more pts it's still a lower score. And if Alina get inflated on pcs then Zhenya will get inflated too. So, she still a big chance of winning gold.

I agree. If both skate perfectly clean I don't see Alina going over 153, while Evgenia can get 155 (78+77) if clean. Honestly she can get even more, if all her GOE look more like World Team Trophy where she got 82 in TES. Evgenia has to be flawless, which is not easy but we've seen her do it so many times and know she can do it again!
It will truly be a test of nerves tommorow - can Zhenya be completely focused even though it's the first time in two years that she's not entering the FS with the highest score, but also can Alina stay calm now that she has a good chance of winning against Evgenia.
Naturally, I won't be able to watch it live![]()

Today's evening training - just Zhenya and Alina
Really? Were the only ones?
Only Russian women Evgenia Medvedeva and Alina Zagitova from the strongest warm-up of the figure skaters performing at the European Championship came out for training on Friday evening.
