Med can still win this. But even if she lose European it does not matter. Adelina Sonitkova lost European and won Olympics. No big deal.

Yeah, thats what surprised me most in her program, i don't think she ever had such flexibility. This was always one of the aspects where Alina was obviously better, but now its close.

Yes, but it's also noticeable that here at Europeans her spin traveled a bit. The centering was much better at NHK.

I agree. If both skate perfectly clean I don't see Alina going over 153, while Evgenia can get 155 (78+77) if clean. Honestly she can get even more, if all her GOE look more like World Team Trophy where she got 82 in TES. Evgenia has to be flawless, which is not easy but we've seen her do it so many times and know she can do it again! :cheer:

It will truly be a test of nerves tommorow - can Zhenya be completely focused even though it's the first time in two years that she's not entering the FS with the highest score, but also can Alina stay calm now that she has a good chance of winning against Evgenia. :drama:

Naturally, I won't be able to watch it live :laugh:

I just want her to have a skate that she is satisfied with. I don’t want her to be disappointed or beat herself up too much over this.

And of course I won’t watch live either.:laugh:

I would say. it's not about "nerves" and "not being first after sp". It's more about her shape after the injury. And how ready her body is. It's hard to be in 100% shape right after that. But the good thing ... she has time until Oly.

But her satisfaction's criterion is : clean, perfect skate though...
Personally I'd like to not watch live or I'll die young. But I might just do it when the time comes like yesterday.
Oh, the duality of man XD....
 
Nice new spin position, that helps her in speed inscreasing, the only thing left to do is to get it centered :love:

Today's evening training - just Zhenya and Alina

In the evening the skaters had the second official training for the day. Medvedeva and Zagitova made many cascades, including four triple jumps. During the two trainings, both skaters made little mistakes - one each - Medvedeva once did not go out well from the starting flip, because of that she did not add a triple toe loop. Zagitova once made a step-out.
