Yes, I'd heard that she'd been practicing the 4S! Watch Tsarina come back next season with the 4S and more determination than ever :cool:

If 24 year old Mirai Nagasu can do it after missing the last Olympics altogether, then 18 year old Evgenia Medvedeva, with her talent, most certainly can. So much respect for this young lady. Taking it like a champ, and already looking ahead.
 
What is judging for, if not to put that performance first. Otherwise just use a calculator.
 
I've been reading these forums as a (fantastic) source for news updates on my favorite skaters for a while, but I felt compelled to join tonight after watching the heartbreaking results. Reading your posts on her remarks during the press conference has cheered me up a bit, and renewed my respect for her as an athlete. She is such a fighter. I don't think there has been a skater with her mental fortitude since Yuna Kim. She will always be my Olympic champion, but I hope she comes back from this fighting. The younger skaters with quads have me worried, although I suppose we will need to see how consistent they remain through puberty. I feel like Zhenya can only get better. I agree that she can get a quad if she works hard enough.. and I think we all know how hard she is willing to work.

Though I still can't shake the feeling that, for the second Olympics in a row, the judges have let this sport down. :sad4:
 
Guys, I'm sad. It broke my heart to see Evgenia cry :sad21:. Anna Karenina was a magnificent performance, she did it excellent !!!! Alina was not perfect today, and the technical difference was just little more than one point. The difference was based only on the Alina's inflation in her pcs! My God, this is so unfair. Yatagarasu was right, if Alina's PCs went up in the Nationals there would be no way to stop inflation.


The reality is that Evgenia deserved the gold. The base value proved not to be of much use, since Evgenia made almost 80 in TEs only by obtaining GOE.


The judges have to stop, this is not baby zagi's fault, but the manipulations of PCs. Satokos saw restricted again. This makes me want to wish the change of rules (the three categories).


I hope that Evgenia wins the Worlds championships.

When I saw that Alina had almost the same PCs as Carolina Kostner, I nearly turned off the TV. >.>

Don't get me wrong, Alina is an absolutely lovely girl, but her artistry isn't anywhere near Kostner or Evgenia. I'm sure her artistry will improve with age, but as it currently stands... yeah, her PCs was insanely inflated.
 
Eteri was crying during the presentation. Zhenya has become my Patrick Chan. Silver in team and singles after years of dominance. But they’re still champions.
