As far as i know coaches receive money which equals to 50% of what medalists receive, so in case with Eteri she will probably receive almost the same money as any of Evgenia/Alina. This is a lot tbh
for example Alina will get around 230 000 usd only from various foundations + a car and may be something else. Some athletes also receive apartments and other things.

Wait did Alina give a speech too? Cuz if not then yes Zhenya is crazy popular.... Maybe because I don't stan Alina that much (literally no hate to her I'm just so in love with Zhenya for a year now), but Zhenya is the one getting interview after interview in Russia(such a good media coverage), even invited to Japan, new sponsorship from Nike, winning the new BMW according to the vote of others, American media expressing how she was the most amazing skater at the Olympics... Man.... My girl striving... Also if Alina didn't give a speech then Putin is impressed af with Evgenia (despite the government clearly ignoring "older" female skaters for the sake of the younger ones)... AAAAnd after seeing the pictures of Zagi, Eteri and Zhenya with Putin he does seem impressed with her. Like Alina is more in the background (she can't drink since she is underaged anyways aaaand I kinda get why it would be more interesting to talk to a 18 year old rather than a 15 year old) and Putin is legit having a conversation with Zhenya and enjoying it?!?!?!:shocked: Maybe I'm overthinking or just biased and ignoring Alina's popularity... but after hearing so many skeptics saying that Zhenya is "done" after "losing to Alina" her becoming literal queen makes my heart full of love and ahhh~~~ Idk... help me y'all is she getting more popular than before or am I delulu? Of course I'm wishing Alina all the best as well, baby girl did win the gold after all :luv17: But how I see things is that Zhenya still holds her champion status(???) and like Yuzu mentioned I wish both girls could've gotten the gold

The way I see it is that Alina is still a shy 15 year old, while Zhenya (at 18) is already growing into a confident young lady. It’s easy for us to forget that they are at different stages of their lives. I suspect Alina will be there in a couple of years.

I think it's more than simply liking the attention: Zhenya was chosen to speak in front of the IOC, and it seems to me that not only she is loved for her outgoing personality, but she is also respected for being such a tough, mature person.
Obviously that's not to take anything away from Alina, who does seem like a very shy and sweet girl, but I think Zhenya is getting a lot of attention not just because she likes it, but because she 'deserves' it and she has conquered people's love.

And also their personalities are different, regardless of their age. Zhenya also debuted as a senior at 15, but she seems naturally more outgoing, playful and confident off the ice. While Alina, while putting on a great show on the ice, is a bit more shy off it (though her responses to the media are thoughtful beyond her years). Of course there is nothing wrong with either of them, they're just different.
But it's a good thing for both, Zhenya is Alina's senior so in a way she is looking out for her by handling the media. And Alina can watch and learn how to do it herself as she grows up :yes:

Also let's not forget that Alina is just 15 and it's her first season, she had only 1 season at juniors, she doesn't have enough experience, I am sure with time Alina will rock as well. In fact there are plenty articles about her too
Zhenya was leading this cycle, so it's entirely normal for media to know her more and her fan base is all over the globe.
And yes, I am happy about it, think she is ready to handle this attention, and it's good for her career outside of skating.- Joined

She prefer quietness now, she said crowd drains her energy. Basically she's more communicative so media prefer that.
She said she used to like big parties in the past but not anymore.
