Evgenia Medvedeva

New or old interview?!? Can someone translate this please ?! https://youtu.be/GEy2lpzBH4c

mostly it was about rumor that Zhenya is going to change country and coach. She said that she also was suprised and she doesn't know who is spreading such news and she doesn't change country and coach. he also asked about her future. and she said that skating is her life and she wants to stay in figure skating for many years. a bit about bmw and that many people welcomed her at airport and how russian were treated during olympics(doping scandal)

As you see she just wanted to cut the rumors.

Zhenya hates axel. I guess only 4salchow is probable, but i don't worry about quads till only person who jump them is 13yo 148cm/30kg.

I wish Zhenya post more videos and pics.

Some stuff from Alexandra Trusova's new interview (03.01.18) https://twitter.com/morisnourd/status/948558720488886275
"Who is your favourite in terms of character and choreography?"
—Zhenya [Medvedeva]
"What touches you in her skating?"
— Everything.
"Do you remember when you first saw her [Medvedeva]?
— I saw her before I moved to Eteri Georgievna's [Tutberidze] group. We didn't talk back then, she didn't know me and I was watching her like she was a star, a celebrity.
Then I moved to their group, came to the changing room and we started talking. I enjoy being with her together. And then we lived in the same room in Novogorsk.
"Were you upset when she was forced to miss GPF because of the injury?"
— Yes. She promised me that if I make it to JGPF, we will go to Japan together but... I wish I could be in the Finals with her.
"What kind of character do you have?"
— I don't even know [laughs]. I hope like Zhenya's, a strong one. But overall. I'm shy. I wasn't like this as a child.

:cry::sad21:

I am not suprised. Those young girls are lucky to have Zhenya as role model.

Yes, absolutely. There will be a lot of new stars coming in the next couple of years and it will be difficult for Zhenny (and all other current elite skaters) to maintain their leadership. One thing that stands out for Zhenya is,however, her fighting spirit. She ist not just a double champion, but also an inspiration for many young girls and this will last longer than any medal. I would even make a bold statement by saying that probably some little piece of the success in Eteri's strategy goes back to Evgenia because she understood her character and willingness to always give 150%. Eteri wants students, who know how to cherish the opportunity to train, to enjoy every second on the ice despite the pain and the struggle, and with Medvedeva she just found that. She's definitely using her as a role model for the new generation.

Sorry, if this sounds like nonesense. It's already late where I am and I am also very romantic by nature.

I 100% agree! Also, it's useful to remember that even the greatest (Yuna, Mao, Yuzuru, Plushenko) did not win ALL the time. The dominance Zhenya had in the past 2 seasons was not something *normal* - what would be normal in the future would be her winning some events, medaling in others, sometimes even losing, which happened to all of the greatest. Even if she won't have complete dominance like she used to, she can still win, medal and be generally great at what she does!

It must be hard for Zhenya. Imagine situation when silvers medals/2nd places are disappointments. I hope she will be ok. But I am worried a bit because she finds herself stuborn as a donkey.

And quote: When she sees younger skaters doing more difficult maneuvers, Medvedeva said: “You just feel inside so strange. You are older, and you must be stronger than them. It really forces you.”

I don't want to see Zhenya injured. However, she always was mature and her parents/family are supportive and very close to her. To be honest I just want to see happy and healthy Zhenya I don't need medals.

I love how she stares at food. It is like omg food, yummy :luv17::rofl:She is as cute as Yuzuru. Zhenya and Yuzuru are so cartoonish/kawaii when they are not focused. Someone should make 2hour interview with Zhenya and Yuzuru. ISU is bad at marketing/PR. It is hard to find more likeable skaters.

I saw a post on tumblr saying she WD. So I come here to ask for confirmation.

Don't trust tumblr.

I think a lot of people are taking rumors as gospel since Averbukh's interview and it just spreads unecessarily.

Now I really hope they ditch Averbukh next season. He shouldn’t say things like that if Eteri and Evgenia herself didn’t.

He didn't really lied, her getting medical exams is quite normal but he added his unnecessary and misleading opinion , well, I don't know about ditching him, Danill can't choreograph for the ENTIRE group himself next season, I hope they add foreign choreographer(s). I really really want Shae Lynn Bourne TT.TT.
