It's obvious that she thought about it BEFORE announcing her decision to journalists (and to the whole skating world, basically), I don't even understand why some people still thinks she won't be able to afford her new training

She definitely has the personality for politics, I am still amazed that she negotiated successfully with RusFed.

Yes, she is! I remember on twitter people saying they read or watched Anna Karenina because of her. Someone was even mad at their teacher for talking of "adaptations of Anna Karenina" without mentioning Zhenya

I would definetly buy her biography if she tells us one day the whole story. I think this has even movie potential. From the start this season until the break up from Eteri. Drama, Injury and Intrigue.

In a movie you couldn't just focus on this season, you need to tell her rise (from 2015 to mid 2017), her "fall" (this olympic season) and hopefully end with her "rebirth" as a World / Olympic champion. But I agree, that definitely would be worth watching

She would be a wonderful diplomat! She is very charismatic, speaks a couple of languages, and has already negotiated with the IOC and the RusFed. Put that stuff on your resume, Zhenya!

After watching her skate to it in her European EX, I liked the song enough to buy it on iTunes and watch the Battle for Sevastapol movie that the Polina Gagarina cover version is from. It's a pretty good movie...

I agree 100%. She is more than just an athlete.
I dont think Zhenya leaving Eteri will have a lasting negative impact in Russia because Eteri will continue to thrive in the next quad with many very good skaters and Zhenya will be healthy and happy living and training in Canada learning new things yet still representing the country she loves, Russia.
