Evgenia Medvedeva

With the russian jacket? :laugh2: Don't know exactly why, but I find this hilarious

I'm waiting for the Russian flag to be hoisted :rolleye:

Well, they're more against Zhenya in general than this interview in particular :drama:

Russian ladies thread is not Russian ladies thread, this is Eteri fanfest

I'm just waiting for the Boyang, Evgenia, & Jason selfie 😄

Aren't we all?

That was a great interview! And that is downright amazing that she had that life epiphany at age 18. Shows great maturity. Sounds like she's focused on what's best for HER not just her competition results. I think she made the right move!

And I love her approach to learning language. A big regret I had as a child is that I did not embrace learning the langauge of my parents (I'm Vietnamese-American) because I was too embarassed to talk. I am trying to get back and learn now, but I really lost some prime learning years. I love that Evgenia embraced what she did not know and has used it as a learning opportunity.

I was impressed by that as well. I noticed not many Russian skaters speak English well and I wondered why Evgenia did. Now I know that she learned it on her own time. I also like how she said that she is looking into other careers for when she's older. That's good to hear.
Hey, it's never too late to learn a new language. She learned it an older age and English is not an easy language to learn. Good luck!

I’m twice Zhenya’s age though. :slink: But you are right!!

Zhenya’s getting right to work! What jet lag?

Is the rink at TCC smaller or it's just an illusion from the lack of hockey glasswalls?

The rink is 190’ x 87’. A regular NHL rink is 200' x 85'. So it's a bit shorter (bit NHL rinks have curved corners and TCC doesn't) and a couple feet wider.

I'm glad to see her training. :yahoo: And I also think the ice rink is smaller in size, but it's probably an illusion.

I have a technical question, when performing an exercise "flashlights" skaters must bounce up? It seems to be not. Are there anyone among us who skates?Or is this another exercise? I want to know more:scratch2:
