You remember the little girl who won the Ice Age show, Elizaveta Berestovskaia ?
In her last Insta post, someone asked her who is her role model. She answered :
« most of all I like Zhenya Medvedeva! From her I try to take an example
she is very kind and strong
I believe that she will win Olympic gold»
So cute
(I just can’t put in my mind that Zhenya is this arrogant, shallow and egocentric girl that some say she is)

Oh, that‘s so cute
And I think that if anything should be obvious, it‘s that Zhenya is not arrogant, shallow or whatever. You just need to look at it logically and you can clearly see that this is total and utter nonsense. Why would everybody in the skating world befriend her so easily if she was like that? Why would the media and fans all ovet the world adore her? Why would these little kids on the show love her? You can‘t really misguide kids. They can tell if you‘re fake and they don‘t lie. If they like you and tell that, then it‘s genuine. So, why would all these kids love her so much then? She was friendly and warm and caring towards them, that‘s it. They don‘t care about what she allegedly said or didn‘t say, how she left Eteri. They just care about what they see and what they feel. And obviously they don‘t feel anything fake or arrogant from Zhenya. That‘s because she isn‘t. People who say that simply look for a reason to hate her, nothing more. But let‘s focus just on the positivity of this post. I simply love how the young generation sees her as a role model, especially such aspiring stars as Berestovskaia.

Well some people are always trying to pit girls/women against each other. Evgenia being kind, sweet AND self assured / confident somehow doesn't fit their narrative. I hope she makes the most out of her opportunity to live abroad and experience new things both professionally and personally. They say the living your best life is the best way to answer to haters

Well some people are always trying to pit girls/women against each other. Evgenia being kind, sweet AND self assured / confident somehow doesn't fit their narrative. EXACTLY! That‘s what annoyed me most about the Zhenya/Alina thing during the Olympics. That people just didn‘t seem to be able to grasp that yes, they were indeed friends. Newspapers were always trying to stir some controversies or doubts about it. Get over it, people, girls can be confident and competitive and still be friends. That‘s neither impossible nor unrealistic.

But why do we have to keep bringing the negative things people say about her to the fan fest though? Can’t we just enjoy Zhenya and focus on her new life at TCC?

Someone asked Kaetlyn (Osmond) if she was going to show Zhenya around Toronto and she said that she would if she knew her way around.
I’m glad Zhenya will get to discover a new culture and all !

edit : I may have missed the news, but did we finally learn what was the test skates she was speaking about in the interview? Was it the russian test skate or the same competition Orser mentionned earlier?

About the interview: I found it very peaceful. They were talking in a pond, and Zhenya answered so frankly and maturely, she really didn't say anything horrible or unnecessary. She is a mature girl. Now we know what she likes and doesn't like about programs. I hope she tries an image with which she feels comfortable and identified this season.
