Hi Zhenya fans, I was coming in here to see if you saw this. If you can’t tell, it is from Jason’s Insta story, and he has been counting down the training days at TCC

You may have many spies at TCC, but Jason appears to be the Master Spy in Chief:laugh: I’m so glad he and Zhenya are profiting from their time together, and now Gabby as well.

No, Jason’s good at giving fan service! I’m not surprised if Jason reads a tweet of “Give us Evgenia fans moooore” and he’s like “Not only will I do that I will absolutely slaaaay at it.”

Anyone find it weird or sad when in her recent interview Evgenia said that she had no friends or thought she would have no friends when she retires. She seems like such an extrovert and genuinely liked by the other foreign skaters , for example she learned English by herself to make friends with them.

I can see the competitive, pressure cooker environment at the rink under Eteri could limit the degree of closeness to the other skaters. But I figured growing up in Moscow she would have have some friends outside of skating.

The other interesting thing was that she only wanted to skate with Orser. It reminded me of this clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxecol9slSo at the 2:05 mark Yuna is struggling, falling, popping jumps. Brian calmly takes her aside, makes a joke, and probably says some words of encouragement. Contrast that with the Japanese documentary and other clips with Eteri where Evgenia is distraught or when another skater like Alina falls, Eteri seems to berate the skaters. Before Eteri fans cry foul and scream biased editing, it apparently produces results so I'll leave it at that.

After reading the interview, I honestly don't think Evgenia was looking for a better coach so she could get fix her flutz, land a quad or triple axle.

Brian is back from Japan :) Jason keeps giving us amazing videos and now Gabby is there too!!!

Ps. Guys!!! Page 700!

Woohooo!

I'm absolutely loving all the Zhenya on ice content! She seems to be doing classes to improve her skating skills and conditioning, which is great!
I wonder if they will start on the choreo work soon...

She made very clear from the beginning that she was looking for longevity, and that's a better and saner state of mind, even if it ends up with her losing her consistency and her overall results.

But in the interview she also clearly says that she did it to improve her skills for the next Olympics, so I wouldn't be surprised if they work on those jumps anyway (maybe not the triple axel though).

All these people are called company (friends), but not best friends. For a Russian person, this is too strong a feeling that many people with whom you meet from time to time and have a nice time, call the best friends. Will finish her career - she will have the best friends.
In the interview Zhenya clearly stated her intentions. And what people can think and interpret her words as they like
