Hello? It's my first time posting here, but I've been reading this thread a lot. I've been a fan of Zhenya for some months now, and I really admire her.

I went and listened to 'Orange Colored Sky', personally I think it's okay. Though I wonder that maybe this music might be better for an exhibition where she can just have fun with it.
If this turns out to be Zhenya's short program, what kind of costume might she wear? I noticed many of her dresses are in cool or neutral tones, so it would certainly be different if she wore orange to go with the song title, hehe

She definitely doesn't need to wear orange, that would probably be horrible But I don't have any idea about what outfit could go well with the music...

Orange would certainly be something new but I‘m a bit sceptical about it, to be honest. I mean, Zhenya‘s beautiful but orange sometimes makes you look like you‘re sick if you‘re not careful with choosing the right shade. However, it could also be cool to have something brighter and more colourful. I guess she‘ll surprise us anyway, it‘s Sailor Zhenya after all, her and Brian, David and Luna will make some gorgeous choreography for us and whatever her dress maker is will make her a stunning dress, too!

But it seems they use rinks outside club the whole year and apparently any skater there can freely spare any detail about Med's skating. It is very uncommon for Moscow rinks. I hope that this is just an adaptational stage and her team will provide greater privacy about what Med would prefer to keep in secret.

Actually it isn't uncommon for programs to leak. IIRC Tuktamysheva's program leaked last year. Zhenya decided to learn choreography on public rink so she is perfectly aware that somebody can see it and tell the rest of the world. Also unless there is like completely private time for a skater at the rink there is always somebody who sees what you are doing. Don't forget that the majority of rumours which ended up to be true came from insiders with access to the rink

She definitely doesn't need to wear orange, that would probably be horrible But I don't have any idea about what outfit could go well with the music...

That's true. Maybe a softer gold/yellow color would work? Or you could go the other way on the color spectrum and have a pinkish/peach, though I think that might be kind of... childish?

And to give my two cents on Carmen, even outside of figure skating it's incredibly popular and kind of overdone... I'm a bit of a classical music nerd, since I play the flute, but there are actually three different pieces that use themes from Carmen: a Carmen Fantasy by F. Borne, another by F. Waxman, and one more by P. Sarasate. They're all quite different from each other, and it seems all of them are popular for competitions and concerts. Even so, I have to confess that I rather like Carmen, and I'm learning to play it myself, although I think skaters could stand to move on and pick something else by now.

I‘m no fan of yellow either, to be honest. And pink... Hm, I didn‘t exactly love Masha Sotskova‘s dress. I just can‘t imagine Zhenya in yellow or pink. It’d be different from what she’s worn so far but I’m not sure I’d like it. Gold would depend on how it’s done but theoretically, I can see her in it. Maybe not the entire dress in gold bur some gold details? Red, however, I can imagine. Very much so.

I might be the only one here who loves jazzy programs haha i absolutely loved Mao's Bei Mir Bistu Shein and i hope it really is Zhenya's SP music, it would be so different for her which is what i wanted for her after leaving Averbubu! fresh programs & new, different direction for her! Give me fun, sassy, flirty zhenya! i was tired of seeing her being deaf or run by a train :noshake:

I keep listening to the song and actually, I‘m warming up to it. I can imagine Zhenya really skating to it and honestly, just the fact that Brian Orser himself skated to this music says a lot about the credibility of the rumour. Like, how epic would that be if it turned out to be true? And yes, it‘ll be cool to see kind of a different Zhenya. While I loved her dramatic programs (even if they ended with her receiving tragic news of a loved one, being run by a train or taking her last breath. Wow, if you look at it like that that‘s really some bunch of dark themes here. ) something light-hearted could make a nice change and show the diversity in her skating!

Second, I’m actually pretty excited if the SP will be Orange Colored Sky. It will certainly be a change and something never really seen from her. This maybe bias because I love collecting old records and I have a couple Nat King Cole’s, but I think it is has a lot of potential to make it her own.

I have no problem saying her name. I am a Latino from the US. I wonder if it has to do with where you are from....like phonetics and all that stuff.

It's the soft D in the last name followed by more consonants. To say Medved-juh-va is an easy cheat and pretty close, but to say Medved-ye-va is harder, and to say it as sort of a combination of the two sounds is quite difficult. It is easy to say Nadia, but to constrict the throat again for another v after opening it for the ya sound is unnatural in English. I can say her name after some practice, but with an American accent, of course. I don't know why Johnny Weir can say Medvedeva but not Evgenia. Perhaps he just wants to be contrary.

Maybe an ombre wouldn't be bad, like her Nocturne dress. It could melt to a cream color at the top with the warmer shades at the skirt.

How can you skate to Orange Colored Sky and not wear orange? It just makes sense, all the people I have seen skate to this have worn orange! I think there are some really soft and pretty shades, and orange would look beautiful with colors like cream or gold like others have mentioned. I think Zhenya should have a fun dress to go with this fun music.

So that poster on IG has more in her story about Zhenya's SP. Basically it sounds like the skater who told her said her friend was practicing HER program to the song and Zhenya started skating to it. The skater's coach asked Brian (who was there, I guess) why and responded that it was her SP.

So this is like third or fourth- hand information LOL.
