Ok, let's take a break from the drama and talk about something lighthearted :agree: . I liked how they altered Evgenia's SP dress, it had better fit, looked more flapper-like etc. Of course, we are in agreement that the last thing Evgenia needs to worry now is her SP dress, but TLS suggested that it was affecting her overall packaging which in turn affects how she "sells" the program; they suggested that a lighter colored dress would suit the program better.

Also, they mentioned something about her skates, that (1) it does not allow her to feel the ice (maybe this was a tweet from Dave though); (2) it is "juvenile," which runs in contrast with the "grown up" skater Brian wants Evgenia to project. I saw some Edea ad with Evgenia in it, so I am assuming she can't just ditch Edea for another. Do you think these are valid points?

Evgenia has been using Edea’s for years and many senior skaters use them so I have no idea why would they be considered as “jouvenile”. If there is any problem with feeling the ice I would put my bet on blades as after many years she changed them to Rev version.

I think skates are a personal choice. I don't think it is there place to say what skates she should wear. Edeas are very lightweight and give you more ankle flexion so the theory is it is better for your foot and creates better shock absorption. I think she could do without the rhinstones on them though! From an aesthetic side, I like the Ice Fly model better than the Piano model.

Maybe because of the rhinestones? that's the only thing that comes to my mind, even though the last thing i would notice are rhinestones on her skates

Yes, I know we all have our own opinions. But this guy...For a professional commentator he doesn't even try to hide and cover his bias. He literally h.ates Papadakis ana Cizeron, last year.he was pretty much hysterical during Worlds. I know they all have their favourites, but this is new level. This time he took offence at Zhenya's words about media frenzy (though she didn't even mention media), I wouldn't pay attention to him, cause all af this are pure speculation. Just hoping Evgenia completely ignores russian media these days.

But something do worry me from this commentator's words. He pointed out that Med's results have been getting worse from competition to competition. Also the not enough ice time.

Anyway I hope her effort pays back eventually. And all the hardworking girls have good results.

I'm also not a fan of rhinestones on boots per se but they go so well with her FS dress that they're kinda growing on me.

Her SP dress definitely looks better with the alterations but I'm still not 100% sold on it. I kinda liked the first one more though I obviously understand why it didn't work for her.

Yes, her results have been getting worse, this is true and we just have to wait.and see. It's a long process. But the rest of it... Did he measure her personally, is he her nutritionist? To me, she looks totally in shape, in great shape. About ice time, accordind to Orser she's got 3 hours, 2 in group, 1 personal with Brian. Plus, according to Zhenya she can get ice whenever she needs (she said it previously). I believe every coach knows better. And this guy just picked few words and rambled on the whole page about smth he really didn't know so well. She is an adult now and old ways probably didn't work for her anymore. Anyway, I think it's time to let this subject just rest. To change the subject, I really liked her make-up. I'm always surprised at how woderful all the girls look.

I can’t remember who exactly it was, but a female ice dancer wore black boots and became the first female dancer to do so this GP. They look so much better with a dark costume than bright white ones.

And white is so overused, and often mixes too much with the ice. Black would be amazing really! And with that tape she puts it still would look aesthetical hahaha ( I believe is because she wants the boot very firm in her feet that she puts tape, no? )

She was gorgeous in IdF, but personally, I liked her hair and make-up in Skate Canada FS better.
