Evgenia Medvedeva

First post on here. Been a Evgenia fan since day one, way back when she was in juniors. So happy she is still performing and wishing her all the best in worlds, a performance she can be happy and proud of. I think she'll fight hard for it but hopefully not too hard because she delivers best when she is confident and relaxed.

Evgenia didn't have any URs at RCF did she? I'm so bad at telling. I only just looked at the SP and some comments were saying the Axel and loop are UR? Someone more knowledgeable than me please clarify.
Anyways, I just hope that if she gets called out for URs at Worlds, then all the other competitors with URs do too. A lot of them have UR problems. Also, a lot of skaters have flutz or flat edge but it seems like only Evgenia only has the reputation for it. :(
I really hope she skates clean. I would love to see 2 clean programs from her :) Especially her FP, I have grown to love it so much.

Some of her jumps were a little tight on their landings but in my opinion she didn't have any glaring uncalled URs.

Welcome to her fanfest. Post often. What was the first competition you saw her in? :)

100% agree that she delivers best when she’s confident!

Glad you decided to join us here :)

I am still like that. Here in Toronto you can get calming herb oils which help you get over jet lag. Haven’t tried it yet. Find these long 13 to 16 hour flights awful. Hope she gets plenty of rest. I think from her older photo that she travels in business class so at least she will get a flat bed seat.
It also depends on the time you are flying. When I flew to and back from Australia i did not have any yet lag At all cause the flight times and my management on when to sleep during the flights and when not to sleep

That is true. I never have much of a problem flying to South America.

But things do get worse as you age and I am an old hag!

Yes I think sleeping on the plane is key and if she is in a flat bed seat she can sleep and it will be easier to recover from jet lag.

Yeah she mentioned how a couple years back it didn't bother her at all, but she's feeling it now. I hope they're doing everything they can to minimize the effects

Not much time to adjust but we have to take it as it is. I'm happy she arrived safely.

Zhenya‘s a professional. I can‘t say I‘m not worried but I think she knows how to handle jetlag. I hope everything works out just fine for her.

That‘s good! So, she has a day to acclimatize before the official practice. Not too much but at least something. Do we know anything about the other members of Team Russia? Judging by her stories, it looks like Sofia is already on her way to Saitama as well.

Yeah she just has a night before training. Not much but at least something.
Alina should be in Japan as well, Sofia posted a pic of Moris, Alina's team mate.

It‘s better than arriving on Monday, at least. I wish she could have been in Japan earlier but it is what it is.

That‘s what I thought too, but it looks just like a: “Happy Birthday“ picture. I don‘t know whether it‘s even from today. There‘s no clue on the Alina fanpages of her and the rest of her team being in Japan. But I guess she is, since Sofia is already there and I don‘t think they would travel separately. So: one night to acclimatize for all girls and then practices will start. That‘s crazy! Worlds is so soon. I still can‘t believe it.

Why would they not travel separately? Sofia is in st. Petersburg and alina in moskau they also could fly from those two airports separately. They aren't really training together so...

No, I meant they wouldn’t travel on separate days, as in “traveling together“. It’s very likely that they don’t actually sit in the same plane because they live in different cities. But they should all arrive in Japan the same day. I should have clarified that. It doesn‘t make a whole lot of sense to have one half of team Russia go to Saitama a day earlier than the other skaters. RusFed is paying for their stay, after all, so unless Alina and her team would decline being there a day earlier, it makes sense that all of Team Russia (wherever they live) will travel to Japan the same day. That‘s why I think Team Tutberidze should be on their way already.

But we will see tomorrow at practice! I hope Zhenya is fit. I always love to see the practice sessions. She‘s so free there and there‘s no pressure. Good luck, Zhenya! And good luck to the whole Team Cricket!

Yay! And I think it's fine with the timing. The SP is on Wednesday, right? Should be enough to adjust.

Yes, I think we all just tend to get nervous easily. Especially since it‘s Worlds coming up! I think it‘s normal that we‘re all anxious. But Zhenya is a professional and she has performed after having to adjust to jetlag multiple times in her career already. She should be experienced and know what to do. And she will be fine! It‘s just that we want everything to be as ideal as possible for her. I‘m so excited to see her in training tomorrow!
