Evgenia Medvedeva

skating while injured ? shes a tough cookie. her mental toughness cannot be unmatched in russia.
Hope the hip injury isnt serious.

I’m beyond happy for her.

What do you guys think, is she satisfied with the bronze medal or was she sad finishing ”only” third and especially when Alina won? She seemed little upset at the ceremony :(
I wonder what are the relations between Alina and Evgenia right now and if they are friends anymore.

My queen! She fought like a tigress, overcoming the pain in her hip from the stretching she received during the warm-up! She is really ferocious! I am so proud to be her fan!

Oh no, please not this topic. Zhenya has said VERY CLEARLY that she is not medal obsessed. So, this medal will be a huge achievement for her, no matter the colour because of the journey it took her to get there.

And most of all, she didn‘t seem “upset“ because of some medal, she was in pain. Of course she‘s not going to be 10000% happy then. It has nothing to do with Alina. The two of them are on good terms. Probably not friends but not enemies either. They talked, took pictures, everything is fine.

I don't think she was upset, it's just an awkward position to be in even if the placements were reversed. More time needs to pass for it to not be awkward. As for them being friends, I don't think they were close friends to begin with, but I want to say please to all of you, let's not create drama where there isn't. As we saw during Russian Nationals, they're speaking to each other. Let's not discuss their friendship, it's awkward and not right anyway.

First interview!

"It was a long way and, honestly, I'm proud of myself today and I'm proud of my team. It was a hard day. But we did it. The only thing I want right now is to get healthy again and move on. It was hard for me today, because I was in a lot of pain."
"During the 6-min warmup I hurt my hip. But I'm sure we'll make it through, because I have shows soon. But it was the pain that gave me strength to carry on".

This makes me very emotional. You brave fighter!

:sad21: How did she hurt it?

My queen! She fought like a tigress, overcoming the pain in her thigh from the stretching she received during the warm-up! She is really ferocious! I am so proud to be her fan!

In her thigh? I thought she injured her hip? Do you know yet how this injury happened?

Wow haven’t watched yet as I am work but just couldn’t stop myself coming here to find out! Amazing news! So proud of her spirit! Can’t wait to go home and catch up [emoji7][emoji7][emoji7][emoji7] what a fantastic end after the difficult season she’s had

I'm sure she's very happy to medal. After the hard season and, as we now know, skating through pain, she most of all knows what a feat it was to get on the podium. And I doubt she has any ill will towards Alina. The hard feelings, if there're still any, were between her and her coach, not her and Alina.

Edit:
:sad21: How did she hurt it?

I don't think we have more information for now and she herself probably doesn't know much more than that it hurts. She says, literally, that she "pulled" her hip, but I'm not sure that's a thing that can happen to a hip?

I watched te fp and man, I have no words for the sheer will power and guts this girl has. You could feel that she was skating with pain and yet she produced the best resul of the whole season.
Yes she didn't really look overly happy on the podium but I can't imagine that she's not happy wit the bronze medal. Maybe she was still overwhelmed and definitely under pain.
I hope she will be able to skate the shoe on Sunday and go on tour afterwards.

Upset? She may have been in pain because She hurt her hip in the warm up. I thought she looked happy and thankful.

I think it should be because of her injured hip. She's in pain, not upset

She’s so tough, so strong, so determined. I’m such a huge fan. Wow I think like this season probably feels like a lifetime of growth and experience for her, which is incredible. I hope today’s outcome gives her the motivation to keep growing and getting better, and to push through another injure. A happy day!

As much as it pains me to say this but I hope she will not skate in the gala but focus on recovering instead. She has done everything she needed to do. Now it‘s time to rest and let her hip heal. Hip injuries are tough, I hope it‘s nothing bad. :(

Did she fall in the warm-up? I still want to know how this happened...

According to that interview, she pulled a muscle during the 6min warm up and was in a lot of pain. I hope she can rest a bit and heal because as she said, her shows start soon.

A muscle? Well, I don‘t know a whole lot about injuries but that‘s better than... say... hurting your bone?

Also, can we just take a minute to appreciate that Zhenya just improved her season‘s best score from 204 to 223? What a fighter.

Honestly I couldn't care less about the relationship between Zhenya and Sagitova. Zhenya moved on and is in a much healthier environment now in Canada!
I'm sooo happy she won a medal today. What an amazing achievement after this turbulent season!
