I know it’s probably not going to happen, especially with Rika having it as her program music this season. But I really want Evgenia to skate a SP to Clair de Lune. The music was literally made for her and I really want a soft SP next season, reminiscent of the ones she had under Eteri’s coaching team (but with Brian’s coaching team choreography and approach). Could you imagine?! I want a complete Carolina Kostner, elegance and class approach to this season, she is going to need those PCS to keep the juniors off the podium and she very well might have met her PCS match in Alena. I’m so excited for the new season already and it’s not even summer yet! :laugh:

Oh man I'm so sorry but I just don't like that piece of music at all ahahhahah. I feel like I've over-listened to it :p
 
I love Clair de Lune, but don’t know how I feel about Evgenia skating to it. I prefer Arabesque no. 1 (over Clair de Lune for Evgenia) which I am not sure anybody has skated to?

Yes, that is actually a perfect music choice! I am totally imagining a beautiful soft piece of music for the SP set against a powerful FS to the more intense/dramatic musical cuts from Memoirs of a Geisha! :agree:

I agree about the soft music choice but please no Claire de Lune again. It‘s a beautiful piece but I‘ve heard it sooo often again already. I always loved Zhenya‘s style, she seemed to float across the ice. So, yes, something like that would be wonderful. It will be exciting to see what they‘re going to do. Keep the old SP, improve on it or create an entirely new one?

(And I still haven‘t given up on my dream that she‘ll do OCS once again in a show... maybe one day)

I liked OCS. But it was more of an exhibition program than a competitive one, that’s why I hope to see it in a show again. As we saw with Tosca this year, she can do something in her “old“ style that is still new and unlike anything she had before. Zhenya is unique in that she can portray deep emotions on the ice. As she said in the Nike campaign: “The crowd sees only the result of what I went through“ She puts her soul and her experience into the programs and that‘s what we can see on the ice: passion, energy, love for skating. That‘s why I think that fun programs as OCS might not be that good for her. She can portray them well, we have seen it at the test skates, she can definitely be flirty and sassy, we all know that. But I feel like during competitions she needs something to kind of... I don’t know... throw her heart into, something she really feels. Tosca was great in that aspect, I think Memoirs of a Geisha has potential as well.

OCS... in a gala appearance, please. It was a lovely program but maybe not for competitive-Zhenya.
 
I liked OCS, it had so much potential. I don't think that it is not suitable for Zhenya, it is just that there were so many changes this year that it wass overwhelming. Tango was much weaker than OCS, Imho.

I feel the same. However, I think next season they won't try anything in that direction: it is not the year to experiment 😅

One thing I'm curious about is weather she will go back to the sp layout she had at the beginning of the season.
 
I've always said I liked OCS and I'm not changing my mind about that. A great program that came at the wrong time. Really doubt Zhenya's going to bring it back, though - she probably has too much of the unpleasantness of this season associated with it at this point. And that's fine. I'd still love to see an upbeat program from her, though maybe not in the upcoming season.
 
I don't mind Zhenya experimenting with styles but I was never a fan of OCS. "Fun" programs are mostly a miss for me, it just wasn't my style. I think there are plenty of ways she can experiment still, though. Tango was new for her, it wasn't really choreographed well, yet she still put some life in it. Imagine if it were actually choreographed well :laugh:
 
Whilst we’re on the topic of wish lists for next season. We already know Evgenia is skating to Memoirs of a Geisha. So here is my dress wish list. Inspiration obviously, not the exact thing but just the idea.
