To be completely honest, I felt she was underscored by a few points. Specifically the PCS and SS. I would have given her at least 37 something PCS. And she didn't even reach 9s in SS and TR. TR I guess, ok. But SS was very underscored, and she was only .6 higher than Trusova for skating skills. Like Zhenya should have scored higher in SS. Little bit disappointed at the tiny underscoring. Also her TES was a little bit higher than Trusova after she finished skating, but her GOE went down a few decimals after.

But putting that aside, Zhenya is in first after SP deservedly. That was stunning. Love to see her smiling. I'm her fan forever! Also very happy the loop is back.

Not gonna lie I was hoping that with her being in Russia she might get a 78 but honestly I'll take what I can get. I'm just happy she gave a performance she can be proud of. Can't wait for the free skate.

I agree. 8.96 in SS is too low, especially compared to the others. Other PCS I felt were underscored too, but the TR was okay.
What a beautiful skate. Love to see her in first after SP. Is this one of the highest SP scores this season? (for no 3A I mean) Love that for her if so.

Did not think I would be saying her PCS is underscored on home ice after a clean skate.

I agree. I thought she would be properly scored on PCS at home. Never thought I would have an issue with her score on home ice.
