Evgenia Medvedeva

Really keeping Evgenia in my thoughts... hoping for positives at RusNats! While in my head I want her on the podium, I'd be happy even if she placed top 5 so long as everything goes alright.

Also! Zhenya's store has been so popular... some sizes are already completely gone. Hope she adds more merch with a wider range of sizing. A tumbler or mug would be nice, too :)

Seeing the technical content of the competitors for me would be a great result if she gets the fifth place.

Although I would love to see her going to Worlds and be champion right in Canada

Top five would be a little disappointing. Especially without Alina thete and Aliona possibly injured. But in reality I guess it would be what quality of a top five would it be? If she skates very very well and gets 5th place that is fine. I certainly think 4th is doable for evgenia and maybe the podium if one or two of 3A bomb. Remember the pressure on these ladies Is immense at Russian Nationals.

I hope Zhenya won't suffer too much jetlag at Russian Nationals. Just saw Russian fans posting that it takes 20 hours to fly from Toronto to Krasnorjask and the time difference is 12 hours between both places.

Actually as harsh as it sounds the travel is long but not too inconvenient. The flight between Toronto and Europe is usually long and overnight so you're sleeping according to your natural rhythm and wake up right before the landing when it's morning in the Europe. Later things depend on how long you're waiting at the airport and later in the Moscow for the next flight. Transfer through Warsaw is convenient (and I don't say it only because I'm a Pole) because you leave Poland around 4 pm get to Moscow at 8 pm and have next almost 5 hour long overnight flight to Krasnoyarsk where you arrive in the morning. So you get into new daylight rhythm in natural manner.

BTW this flight isn't only long but also very expensive. Average price is around 5000 euros return

Yevgeniya about her online store:

“ The online store is my old dream. I plan to give it more attention, to design something on my own ”

Two-time world champion Yevgeniya Medvyedeva spoke about recovery after training, the launch of her own online store, as well as what makeup she prefers now.

-- In one of the interviews you said that you want to "build a body that you'd never had before in your life."

- I don’t know why journalists like to focus attention on this.

-- Probably, because on Instagram you announced a twenty-day marathon "from a ball into cubes"?

- It was just a joke, not the title of a new article about me.

-- Nevertheless, you often talk about a change in diet and a different training regimen. How has this affected you?

- I really worked with a nutritionist, but now nutrition has faded into the background, I have learned to monitor myself, correctly compose a menu depending on goals and objectives.

Now the most important thing is to recover after a workout. Full sleep, stretching after working out in the hall, in which I also began to work out a lot more. It is bearing fruit.

-- You recently announced the launch of your own online store. How did this idea come about?

- This is my old dream. My company knew about this, for a long time they prepared the designs, printed, and showed me. Something wasn't entirely to my liking, but overall they did a great job.

There wasn't much time before the Russian Championship, but in the offseason I plan to devote more attention to this project, perhaps design something myself. After all, I draw.

- Makeup is part of the daily routine of Yevgeniya Medvyedeva. How did you learn to master this tool so well?

- I have used cosmetics from an early age, from 11 years old, on an ongoing basis. So I have quite a lot of experience. But it wasn't my mother who taught me, but Eteri Georgiyevna Tutberidze.

If she noticed some kind of makeup error, she always corrected it. She always demanded that we had a neat hairstyle, so all the girls went out beautiful to training, as this reflects in their state of consciousness. If you are outwardly ready, then your consciousness itself is returning the required level, to combat readiness.

Of course, I stopped doing daily contouring, arrows and red lips, now I have a more natural make-up - brush over those little bruises, some blush, hygienic lipstick, eyelashes, eyebrows, so everything is neat, but not so that it changes facial features.

New interview with Zhenya by the Olympic Channel. She talks about cyber bullies, friendship and her body

I loved this interview, I felt like it handled the situation really well. I was so happy when she decided to work with a nutritionist last year, seems like she doesn’t feel like she needs one now anymore and that seems about right! I’m glad she is taking care of her physical and mental health
