Evgenia Medvedeva

But because she is emotional is one of the reasons we love her.

Yes most definitely. However I think controlling those emotions and channeling them almost completely to her artistry and competitive development is one of the walls she must breakthrough to grow as a skater. We all know how much she loves playing around on social media and when she goes dark it means she’s bitter. Combine that with being locked down and not able to skate I think she is not in a good place mentally. To hell with the media.

She deleted everything except work related content

As any athlete or celebrity should. Personal and more private information is best shared with friends only. So with regrets over the content now gone, a wise decision by Yevgeniya.

I'm so sad about this. Maybe she can slowly add them to Team Moonbears account. Luckily they have lots of pictures.

I just looked at her Instagram and I’m shocked. I mean she may just be trying to clean up her feed so it all looks sleek. But that is a lot of content gone.

I feel the same. I wonder if something else happened which forced her to do that. I'm worried about her and hope she's safe!

This is Zhenya’s FanFest. None of her fans regret the content of her IG, and I doubt Zhenya does either.

If anything, regretting the noise that folks who have nothing better to do make over it may be a better description.

I hope one day that Zhenya reinstates all her photos and all the folks with nothing better to do have gone elsewhere, leaving the IG to her fans.

No, they shouldn‘t have to do this. She wasn‘t posting anything too private, it‘s not her fault people had nothing better to do than insult and stalk her.

Actually, this is always what I loved most about Zhenya. She was open, she was herself and she wasn‘t afraid to show it. And this reflected on her social media as well. Some athletes only share work related stuff on Instagram, always with perfectly structured captions. They show only a certain version of themselves, keep everything inside and answer in learnt phrases. I understand why they might do it but I find it regrettable if Zhenya felt she had to be the same way just so people would leave her alone for once.

I like her spirit, always have, always will. I hope she doesn‘t change just because some people have nothing better to do in their lives than attack athletes they don‘t even know online.

I'm been looking at other Instagram accounts. Is there a way to copy a picture from theirs to my Instagram account?
I just joined Instagram a couple of months ago.

I loved the Instagram with Johnny Weir and Evgenia singing, does anyone have that one? And maybe we can all share a favorite Instagram pictures here.

Decided to share this. My boyfriend printed and framed a picture of Zhenya for my birthday that now we have on the wall behind the sofa in our living room. This is me with the banner I printed for Rostelecom cup: :o:

Honestly, I disagree. She isn't a product. She's a girl. If she wants to remove things like skylines from her apartment, or stuff which may show where she lives, of course that's understandable. But she doesn't exist just to sell us stuff or show us her work. She is not any less of a person just because she has some celebrity status.

Nobody has the right to dictate what she posts. And having a few seconds of fun and expressing herself is definitely not what I would call overly "personal" or "private." I will never understand why this girl gets so much flack for the most innocuous things. She can't breathe without someone making it into a scandal. The fact that she does have a genuine personality is the reason why she appeals to many of us. I find it absurd that a young athlete should be expected to be a blank slate who isn't allowed to share what she's doing in life or post about anything that isn't generic, banal, and/or for commercial purposes. Why are people so hellbent on killing the spirit of a young woman? The h-word people are still going to do their thing, regardless.

:agree: Exactly how I feel.

What an amazing present! Cute idea from your bf. This reminds me that I still haven't bought frames for my Zhenya paintings! Will go find some now!

I think it’s a real shame that some people’s natural reaction is to victim blame her. It’s really not her fault, she is doing what most celebrities do on her social media. She shouldn’t be made to feel uncomfortable doing that. She isn’t a business product or just an athlete. She is a big influencer and personality too and she should feel comfortable expressing her uniqueness.

Society really seems to love to bash women who have strong personalities, who stand up for themselves, who feel confident in themselves and their bodies and who love to express themselves. As someone who also loves to follow the British royal family, the way Zhenya has been treated by the media reminds me so much of how the British press bullied Meghan Markle the past three years for literally anything causing her and her husband to step back from public life. Trully sad.

And posts with her dog Jerry.. so controversial. Pictures with other skaters and her friends should be posted without terrible comments. It's not okay that she felt she had to delete these photos.
