Zhenya's power: The Ladies SP and FS at the 1st Stage of the Russian Cup was supposed to be broadcast on TV, however, when Zhenya withdrew from the stage Channel One cancelled the TV broadcast and the Cup was only livestreamed 
"The first stage of the Russian Figure Skating Cup has ended in Syzran. One of the main innovations of the tournament was that all competition days were broadcast on the website of Channel One. It was also planned to show the women's competitions on live television: in the short program on September 19 and in the free program on September 20. As reported by Severnaya Nedelya, this was stated both in the TV program that the channel sends in advance for print media, and in the announcements that it provides to its partners.
As a result, the broadcast from Syzran never made it onto the airwaves. Channel One did not explain the reasons. However, as it became known to KTV-LUCH, the capital's TV people were counting on the arrival of the two-time world and European champion Evgenia Medvedeva to Syzran. Recall that literally a day before the start of the tournament, she and a number of other famous figure skaters withdrew from the competition. In fact, of the superstars in Syzran, only two-time Russian champion Anna Shcherbakova performed, who confidently won the women's competition.
According to KTV-LUCH, the head of the LDS Rosneft Arena Mikhail Malkin, it was planned to significantly enhance the television picture for the broadcast from Medvedeva on TV. - For broadcasting on TV, a special “concert” light would be needed. These are several tons of metal trusses with light equipment. We were ready to install all the equipment for TV broadcasting, however, Channel One eventually limited itself to Internet broadcasting from Syzran , '' Malkin noted. Let us remind you that the first stage of the Russian Cup in Syzran took place from 18 to 22 September. For five days at the tournament, 24 sets of awards were played in eight types of programs"

I know some of us have been waiting for any updates about Zhenya - here is one minor one! Someone asked him if Zhenya attended his class today and he said yes in the comments

She commented under Jason's too recently and he replied, so it looks like they're at least still on good terms. Though it does make me quite sad to think that they're not training together anymore.

@jmedoj one of Zhenya's fanclubs visited her at Crystal rink today Seems like Zhenya is working hard and not taking a day-off on Sunday. Stay healthy!
