Zhenya actually liked this - nice to see she sees the comedy in it. I think she is happy in Russia - way more stressful figuring out the pandemic and when flights will open, if she can leave, if she can come back, etc.. The last time Trusova/Zhenya went head to head, Zhenya was on top in the SP. Does anyone know if they both have the same jumps as last year planned for the SP?
Honestly, I am so happy that Zhenya finally has a place to train at with real coaches. Just this morning I saw an announcement that the cases in Canada are rising and that there will be more restrictions soon, which probably means that the rest of TCC skaters who are still stuck across the globe like Katia, Yuzuru, JunHwan, Rika etc. will not be able to enter Canada anytime soon and will be without coaches the next few months, a really unfortunate situation. I am glad that Zhenya could get out of this constant limbo.

I know this is going to be incredibly unpopular, but I kind of wish Zhenya would ditch Masquerade and bring back Exogenesis... It’s a program she was extremely comfortable with, the judges and audience were very into, and IMO it still has a lot of life left in it. Different costume, few tweaks to choreography, and Exogenesis will still have that magic. Then she could focus solely on Allegria which definitely needs a lot of attention, considering it’s such a difficult and intricate program.
I’m also biased because Exogenesis became one of my top 2 Zhenya programs ever
and she only got to perform it to it’s full potential once. That STSQ is magic. Best Exogenesis SP of all time?

Can anyone translate what’s on Zhenya’s instagram story? Seems like she sent a gift box and letter to a young skater from Sambo? That’s extremely sweet. And some wonder why Zhenya is so beloved!

I think Exogenesis is great. I love Tosca, too.. But Masquerade looks great. I love Masquerade. Exogenesis was great, however, I love that Zhenya always wants to show new programs and Masquerade is one of my favorite classical pieces. She had so much fun skating to Masquerade at Test Skates, she seemed comfortable skating to it.

I think masquerade could be one of her best programs. I've rewatched it a bunch and it's really good. I also like how it's different than last seasonI think Exogenesis is great. I love Tosca, too.. But Masquerade looks great. I can't make up my mind.

She needs to get correct timing on a waltz though. she isn't quite skating to the 1,2,3 1,2,3 rhythm. that been said, I loved watching it..

From what I could see the skater ordered from Zhenya's shop. She also took a selfie with Zhenya last year at Rostelecom Cup

She posted quite a few stories about Zhenya and it seems as if Zhenya sent her a letter and box of merch or something. Or possibly, she ordered from Zhenya’s store and it came with a letter of some sort?

I loved her programmes last year, I imagine I will love her programmes this year. With what is going on in the world I don't imagine either set is going to wind up with a lot of mileage on them. That means that next year she could conceivably repeat any of the 4 and it still wouldn't be old and boring.

I had a dream of Zhenya last night - she was skating her Allegria FS! She was in a golden dress (not sure why that happened when consciously, I've been expecting her to have a golden jumpsuit for her FS hahaha). She was skating at her upcoming competition in Russia and Brian was cheering for her from the sidelines! Eteri was still her coach in my dream so I'm not sure why Brian was there haha, but his cheering for her was so sweet

Oooh I totally agree! Though personally I'm hoping that for the FS, she repeats Memoirs of a Geisha cause to me, it just seems like an epic skate worthy of an Olympic stage

i cant wait to see zhenya again next weekend, it will be interesting to see how she and eteri will interact together. will they do their breathing in and out thing once again or has the time passed. will they hug or not depending on how the programm goes? cant wait to see her costumes and i hope whatever happens that she is ok.
