Evgenia Medvedeva

I miss Zhenya's skating terribly. I started loving FS when I saw Kim Yuna's spectacular performances during the olympics. Then I loved it more when I saw Hanyu's unbelievable flawless jumps. I was mesmerized by Javier Fernandez's artisty as well. Yuna set a very high standard I thought no one could match it. Then came Zhenya, who skated so perfectly. But it wasnt that. It was her skating with so much passion and fun that made me love her performances. She loves skating so much and it radiates in all of her performances. Now that Zhenya is somehow on the sidelines, I kinda feel like I've lost interest in the sports. Men's FS is still ok but Hanyu isnt as spectacular as he used to anymore. Nathan is amazing but I still feel he isnt there yet. Only Zhenya feels the gap. Zhenya makes FS so exciting. It's not only her struggles and story that makes it exciting, it's that relatable feeling of being strong and a fighter. Of believing in yourself and your craft. It's about being human and about loving the sports and living it. If Zhenya is reading this, please fight not just for the medals. I'd love to see you at the Olympics but seeing you fight to get there is what makes me happy. You inspire the fighter in me! You make me feel like I can also achieve my dreams and ambitions no matter how hard it is. That the opponent is not your competitors but yourself. I really wish to see Zhenya give it all!!! And even more after the olympics.

Great post. (y)
I feel the same way. I just want to see her skate. She stirs such emotion in me. I rewatch all her competitions and Exhibitions.

"Two-time world champion Evgenia Medvedeva played a small cameo role in The Last Axel. The producers wanted to give the skater more screen time, but her busy schedule didn't match with filming.

"I had to reduce Zhenya's appearance to a bright flash. But fans will still see her in the movies. And most importantly, Zhenya can follow the acting path. I saw on the set, how she wanted it: her eyes were burning, she carefully prepared, learned the texts. It was clear that Zhenya was interested in this road.

After all, athletes have a big problem: they cannot find themselves after the end of their careers, only coaching. I hope we helped Zhenya to decide on her future profession. Who knows, what if we opened her way to the cinema?" - reflects the general producer of the series, Ekaterina Laskari.

She's an actress on the ice, so an actress on the big screen makes sense.

Only Zhenya.

Seriously, though, the producer is right about one thing. Zhenya will find her way everywhere, she has enough talent and charisma to do whatever she wants. Thankfully, she doesn‘t need this... circus. And yet, I still miss her so much in competitive skating. I‘m not sure I could endure what it‘s become any longer anyway but her performances always made it worth it. Aaah. Sometimes I hate being a fan. I know she‘d be much better off without this farce, doing her own thing and being incredibly successful while doing so and yet I still want to have her back more than anything else.

I agree. I miss her on the ice so much.

True. She's proven so much already. A bit selfish, but I also want to see her skate!! I can't get enough.

Rewatched one of my favorite galas. 'You raise me up at'Worlds 2016

Btw, you can all find Zhenya's programs and galas in her media section in goldenskate. I uploaded them chronologically, mostly. So if you go back to the last page it starts with her novice programs :)

I love this gala, too. And thank you @Lunalovesskating for all you do.:thank::bow:

A little random, but I wanted to share some nice fan art I recently found that I hadn't seen before!
