Evgenia Medvedeva's 3S-3T-3T-3T

I think Evgenia will be having the same body type as Tatiana Volosozhar or Aliona Savchenko. She does have a perfect slightly X-shaped legs which are very great for ballet, figure skating, ballroom dancing. Then she puts on some muscles on her quadriceps her legs gonna look very athletically lovely. :agree:

She's extreme ectomorph. It's usually hard for them to gain any weight (muscle or fat). I don't think her body will change much.

Normally other girls calling someone like this with a jealous and short word: "witch" :)

Yeah, I remember her complaining in one of those radio interview about people constantly asking through social networks her about diet. She giggled about herself reading all those questions about healthy food diet and stuff with a big pizza slice in her hand and totally not knowing what to respond on those.

This is amazing. Saw it on instagram this morning. Unless she has some unexpected growth spurt or turns into a head case (unlikely), she will be unbeatable. Everyone else will just have to settle for going for silver not gold.

WANTED: Evgenia Medvedeva

For excessive use of JUMP FEATURES

WE WILL NOT WIN UNTIL SHE IS STOPPED. PLEASE HELP.

Signed,

Elena, Satoko, Anna, Ashley, Mao, and Gracie

(Plus a whole herd of Russian ladies who can't make it to worlds as long as she is around.)

People were saying the same thing about Yulia a couple years ago that her body wouldn't change much even if she grew a few more inches. Well we saw how her body changed from that of a little girl in Sochi to a young woman in less then a year so thinking that Medvedeva's body won't change drastically is rather naive. Mother nature can be held off for only so long.

Yes, but Medvedeva is almost 17 and Yulia was 15 and clearly less mature at the time.

I don't think Medvedeva will change that much. She already has a "figure", so I'm guessing she might get a little taller and put on a few pounds, but that's it.

Evgenia is also a year and a half older than Julia in Sochi and has grown/changed a lot already in that year and a half. Given the Olympics are in 2018, I hardly doubt Evgenia or Eteri are trying to hold off mother nature until the age of 18 and a half. A lot of commentators and such actually think she looks older than 16.

Technique has a lot to do with it. Getting more mature doesn't mean the death of someone's ability to jump. Look at Michelle Kwan, at her first nationals she was still a little girl but at the height of her career (while still petite) she was much more mature. I think here is always going to be a little struggle when someone grows but with good technique skaters can get through it. I'm not too worried about Evgenia.

Evgenia's figure seems different from Yulia's. I do not know how to describe the difference. Look at her leg. I cannot imagine she will be too heavy.
But I am not sure if she will be too high. Elena grew almost ten centimetres in one year and she was not too heavy. Maybe Evgenia will be like Elena, be taller but still thin?

How tall is Evgenia? I ask because she seems to be built like........You guessed it, Maria Butyrskaya. Maria had long, and very thin legs for being as short as she was. When you look at a picture of Maria when she's seated she looks tiny. Similar to how tiny Med looks when she's sitting next to her coach in the KnC at Worlds this year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C17aEZT9OXA

As far as gaining weight. I started watching Maria way back in 1992 and I swear that her body has barely changed and trust me, I've been paying close attention to her body for over 20 years...:luv17: I think Med will be just fine.....

Have a look at this Disco Unitard she was wearing the first time I saw her. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wl9yRZOapKc
Don't you just love those Pink Skates!!!!! :cheer2:

I think she will replace 3T, 2T of 3Lo, 2Lo and can get even 1,5-3 points to FS
Impressive. That 3Lo looks great. And she's going for the loop in combination! That's what we want to see!
It's not only the slightly higher base value, but the overall impression that would improve immensely in my opinion when she'd do the loop in combination in competition, especially when it's a triple.

I ranked Satoko and Ashley as the worst at around 270 on the toe pick  Ashley even picked and spun weird on the flip. I thought Zhenia was obviously noticeable but not like Ashley and Satoko who both seem to spin on the pick and UR to some degree. Pogo's looked good.

Tnank you for your video.
When you measured the angles, have you fixed the shooting view and the angles between the blades and the ice?
I screen shot the pre-rotation time of your viedo and measured the angles using the shadow of blade comparing with borders of the rink.
Except Miyahara's view, angles of other skaters' pre-rotation seem to be smaller. Medvedeva's is slightly more than 135 and Ashley's is about 180. If I measure the angles supposing the shooting angles, Med's pre will be 180 and Ashley will be more than 200—these are larger than what they are actually.
Only Miyahara's shooting view did not affect the measurement. Her pre angle was just less than 360 degree, considering the angle of her blade and the ice.
