Evgenia Tarasova & Vladimir Morozov

That was a great video Flanker. You could hear how impressed the audience were with all their elements, all the gasping and oohing and aahing. It really was a great skate, hopefully they continue with this high standard. The BESP commentators were very impressed with their performance. Chris noted how they skate with confidence and that there was no hestitiaion before any element.

Thanks for a review. Official videos are unfortunately not broadcasted in my country and our TV will broadcast only individual and pair competiton, not team events, so for now I must rely on videos like that.

Wooohoooo! Evgenia and Vladimir skated amazingly and are into 2nd place just behind the Chinese pair!

They were totally in their element, the whole program was wonderfully skated and the throw jump was enormous!!!

I can't wait for the Free Skate (even though alas the Aussie team didn't make it :sad21:) Candyman for the wiiiinnnn!

Can you imagine if this Candyman FS is the winning event ?

TBH I hope it is! I sincerely enjoy that program, sure the lyrics aren't the best, but for some reason I just really like it and I love their costumes too! (I can see the issue with the lyrics, but I still don't get the objection to the costumes to be honest...they're so cute and fun!)

Which makes going into the main threads difficult because everyone seems to hate that program with a passion and it gets quite annoying.

I don't hate their free program, but it was an unfortunate choice for the olympic season. It reminds me Kavaguti/Smirnov in Vancouver - lovely SP (despite terrible costumes) and a blend, cheesy FP. I can't see T/M winning gold, but I hope they skate clean and get a medal.

I totally fail @ boycotting

Couldnt help but watched TM!:bow::bow:

& Im torm I root for Queen Sui & her knight but I want Candyman to win!
epic trolling opportunity right there!!! :taunt:

Although their free program is not my favorite, I will cross my fingers for T/M, I just wish OAR had two gold medals. In team event it was rather sympathetic how they all skated like for life, absolutely on edges in not so easy times for them. I have to appreciate it.

Well I finally had to put my foot down and change my icon (although as a diehard Plushy fangirl I'll be changing it back at the end of the pairs event ;) )

But for now....the Candyman can...the Candyman can!

I'm here to let some love for T/M before going:bed: The competition thread was terrible with them and some hard backlash is coming for sure by Russian media's part.
I think they really felt the pressure of skating last after so many great performances... Anyway, I can't understand how Mozer could go ahead with that FP... NOBODY liked it. It's better to skate 1000 times to classical music than risk something "different" right in the Olympics.

Well, this is the sport we love... and man that was rough. Either way, I think they did have a great Olympic performance, no matter if they didn't win, they did the best they could (under the terrible circumstances for the Russian Teams) sending them and their fanbase much love.

Evgenia Tarasova & Vladimir Morozov

I am so proud of these two I don’t even know how to express anything

To skate not for Russia but for ‘OAR’ was a blow already, skating last with the ice roughed up and after the performances of the 3 of the top 4 teams in the world just made things worse.

It must be so devastating for them and I really hope Evgenia doesn't beat herself up too much for tonight - it happens, and this was a valuable learning experience for them.

That being said, I hope one of their big takeaways is that they should skate programs to their strength (classic Russian style,) and experiment in non-Olympic years or only in the short. Watching them in the short and the long - it almost felt like two teams, and you can visibly tell that Vladimir was way more comfortable with Rachmaninoff. Evgenia gets some flack for not being "expressive," but I think she is beautifully expressive! Just in a more understated way that doesn't fit Candyman, I mean she was a superstar in the short. Their Ordinary People ex. is gorgeous and you can see how comfortable and expressive she is in that, which overall just feels like a better aesthetic for the team.

They had a wonderful Olympics, by most people's standards, and I know while they didn't meet their own very high standards, I hope and imagine that they are going to come out of this stronger, and with a better sense of what suits them and where'd they like to go program-wise, in the future. She's still 23, and him 25! They have time, and then next for years will do them wonders leading up to Beijing, where they'd probably be better than ever. Just wanted to get that off my chest before I sleep :)

You know what ? I miss moskvina’s style. Tarasova and morozov can learn a thing or two by training with moskvina for a while like temporarily

I know. I still find it surprising that they're not training with her. I mean, they're the Russian #1, what are you waiting for? And they're so suited for it too, their lines are just to die for. I can't believe that the Russian fed greenlit the free skate knowing it's not their strongest style and that it's Olympic season. They deserve so much better than what they got
