Loud and proud (cheers and boos). The fans still are still with the sport!

What energy in the arena, the locals always supporting visitors and skaters alike. They've done it before with Canadians and World's and they continue to deliver. Kudos Haligonians!

Best Night of Skating - Friday, January 19 Senior Mens Short,
Senior Womens Free. As Kat Witt would say, "the fist was in the neck" and it was anyone's game.

Best New Comers Samson, Chan and Russell

Agony of Sport Award - Saturday, January 20 Vaughn Chipeur and Marcoux and Buntin.

Demonstration of Guts Award - The Qualifying Round. Men 15-20 and Women 15-26 who after 8 to 10 years of hard work achieved the top rank in skating. They came forward in the true spirit of sport and skated their hearts out. They will now be relegated to the dust bin with the reintroduction of the Challenge event for Seniors next year.

Blantant Opportunist Award - Jessica Dube (clearly adored and a personal favourite) for skating two disciplines then dropped out of Senior Ladies robbing number 19 of the opportunity to compete. As a result, she now knows what Gold tastes like!

True Citizens of the Sport - Dubreuil and Lauzon always first class ambassadors.

On to Tokyo!

I agree. The men's field is fantastic. The ladies are improving. And of course the pairs and ice dance are always top notch. It was great.
