As for me, the iconic Seimei step sequence rules them all - with its triumphant jubilant energy and windy speed it is pure magic. Never get enough of it. Knowing it brought Yuzuru his historic second OGM just adds to its legend.
Parisienne Walkways follows closely as the stunning and cheeky declaration of happy and playful youth.
Origin and Otonal have always been mouth dropping to me - I always stop and watch breathlessly.
Ballade No. 1 - has any skater ever got closer to Chopin's "controlled madness" than this?
Rondo Capriccioso.... I could go on and on....
I have cherished quite a few skaters over the several years I have been following the sport and it is not that I care for no one apart from Yuzu, I do, and quite a lot for some, but as much as the thrilling step and choreo sequences are in discussion, no one comes even close to him for me. He just slays in it and is the absolute King. I still remember the feeling when someone showed him to me for the first time and my mouth just dropped and I said: "Wait, is this how they skate today?" and the person who showed the video to me answered: "No, it is not how they skate, it is just how he skates.... "
As many of his programs were linked here already, maybe I'd rather link this special video of his "iconic" step sequences put together by some like-minded soul on YT :)

I do like that in shows a skater doesn’t need to care about judging systems at all.

As for Yagudin, I’ll add two step sequences.
I love that his movements are fantastically musical (including step sequences).

Yagudin - Oblivion (2014)

Yagudin - Yello (2013)
I'd say the step sequence is really long in this video

Well, the purpose of this thread was to list favorite IJS step sequences, to demonstrate that skating to IJS rules doesn't necessarily mean boring. So step sequences designed for 6.0 programs or for show programs are off topic. As would be choreographic sequences.

All worthy of sharing in other threads

I know that often a topic starter writes: “choose only 5 programs”. And some other people write: “I can’t choose only 5, so I chose 10”. I see that people don’t start many new threads in such cases (“choose only 3”, “choose only 5”, “choose only 10”).

You even didn’t say in the beginning that you were going “to demonstrate that skating to IJS rules doesn't necessarily mean boring”.
If you’d like to be a dictator in the thread you started, maybe you’d better work harder on writing your strict rules of the thread in the beginning of the thread (next time)? :)

I don’t want to offend you. :)
I think it’s OK that people are different and happen to write something like “I can’t choose only 5”.

I have a thing for that type of step sequence where skaters just seem to go with the beats of the music, almost like they are improvising, just dancing. I don't think I could make a good ranking, but these come to mind:
Matteo Rizzo, I love how his "upper body movement" really appears as dance movements, not that terrible washing the floor:
Jimmy Ma, of course... :love2:
And Hanyu's Chopin and Rondo - not my favourite programs of his since I prefer the rock stuff, but these step performances are something.
Do I have to say "Aymoz"?

I can't think of many memorable women's performances... part of that is probably that I often don't enjoy the program choices in the first place... and the style of skating that comes with it... but I always liked this one and the step sequence is nice:
Haein Lee's fs sequence this year was also nice.
And I will probably always love this:

I thought the thread title would be self-explanatory. But I understand not every reader could follow my train of thought from the other thread I was responding to.

Should I go back and edit the first post to clarify?

Meanwhile, choose however many IJS step sequences you like. :)

Another vote for Matteo Rizzo. :points: For me it's his FS performance at 2021 Finlandia Trophy, StSq starts at about 3:40.

And, after making sure thread title is favourite and not iconic step sequences, I'll also include Ilya Yablokov at 2021 JGP Ljubljana. StSq starts at about 2:57 in the video. I absolutely love how it flows with the music. 😻

I thought the thread title would be self-explanatory.

I read not only the title, I also read the first post in this thread:

What are some of your favorite step sequences from the past 20 years?

Post them here!

(We could also use this thread to post some boring 6.0 step sequences, but I don't think that deserves a thread of its own.)

I couldn’t guess that after posting this text you were going to say that even some “step sequences from the past 20 years” were “off topic”.

I wasn't going to post any more videos.
Feel free to finish this conversation (which seems to be an off topic indeed).

I feel our friend @gkelly is taking some undue heat here. So for background...

On another thread, I stated my belief that there were fewer really entertaining step sequences under IJS... intending to mean real crowd-pleasers. Not merely intricate or lovely or worthy of a Level 4 or anything like that... I meant just flat out fun to watch.

Our friend thought that was worthy of more discussion, and started a new thread so others could remind me of some crowd-pleasing IJS steps that I'd forgotten. I'm grateful for it, because it turns out that I had indeed forgotten some really good ones.

This is meant to be a light-hearted reminiscence of individual favorites. It's not squabble-worthy.
