Are you sure you want to go there? Whoever you were rooting for either tanked in the short program or tanked in the long. So sorry, but that's simply the REALITY of the situation. Now, if you want to live in fantasy land that flawed skating should be rewarded - go right ahead... that is your right, even when its wrong.
What on Earth are you talking about. Takahashi had a BEAUTIFUL Short Program and THE BEST OVERALL FREESKATE. Where exactly did he "tank"? Joubert made MORE mistakes than Takahashi, which negates his supposed technical superiority.
As for Brian: I wasn't referring to his injury in terms of because he had an injury, he deserved to win - but reflecting on the point that he had/has/whatever an injury to his foot and the other skaters making it an easy night for him, I understood the lack of quads. And by the way, he was clean in both aspects of the competition.
Actually, Brian was NOT clean in the Short Program as he put a hand down on his Triple Flip. Who was "most clean" doesn't matter, the points matter, but this just goes to show how you're ignoring what actually happened at the competition.
Now, in terms of "gifting" skaters with medals... um, the irony of your statement is comical. Truly comical. Why? Because while the skaters who were the best on BOTH nights won gold, those who were not the best on BOTH nights did not (see the difference?) and you're upset because you don't like them... awww... poor baby.... too bad. There's always next year.
Uhhh...how were Miki and Joubert the best on both nights???
Going by the judges alone Miki was
2nd in BOTH the SP and LP and Joubert was
3rd in the LP.
So, again, how exactly are you not ignoring
reality??? It seems to me that you're more complacent to go with the status quo than I am with "not liking certain skaters". Who I like the most has very little to do with how I feel people should have placed, as I force myself to be as objective as possible. Lambiel is easily my favorite out there right now but I was adamant that he did NOT deserve to be in the top 6 after the SP.
---------------
To reiterate my entire stance here:
Miki Ando did great with the jumps, GO MIKI, but won the Gold medal because Mao Asada was unfairly docked in her Short Program.
Brian Joubert did great with the jumps in comparison to most everyone else, GO BRIAN, but won the Gold medal because #1 - the judges felt the need to go with the status quo and give him unfairly high PCS as a result of his "dueness" to win this Title, and #2 - because Takahashi was unfairly docked in the Short Program.
Over and Out.
