Santa Claus Cup Advanced Novice Ladies FS: Results; Protocols
Santa Claus Cup Advanced Novice Ladies: Results

No video uploaded yet 😞

Oliviia finished 2nd out of 28 in the FS, with a score of 78.49. This meant that she climbed to 2nd position overall, with a score of 119.08.

Unfortunately I was not able to watch the Santa Claus Cup, as I was concentrating on the Bosphorus Cup in Istanbul and the Formula 1 in Qatar.

Oliviia only had one issue, and that was landing the opening Triple Loop on the quarter.

Oliviia finished the Free Skate 12.35 points behind 1st position, and 5.41 points ahead of 3rd position.

Overall, Oliviia finished 14.53 points behind 1st position, and 3.29 points ahead of 3rd position.

Whilst the fall on the first part of the combination in the SP and landing the Triple Loop on the quarter in the FS didn't help her score, in all honesty they didn't make any difference to Oliviia's chances of winning. The winner (who had been 2nd in the SP) had an FS programme whose Base Value was so high that it meant that nobody else could touch her. Even with a fall, her TES was 8.45 points higher than Oliviia, who didn't have any falls.

Nevertheless, it might be useful if Oliviia was able to increase the Base Value of her programes, even just a little bit. Of the skaters in the Top 6 of the SP, Oliviia's programme had the lowest Base Value. And of the skaters in the Top 4 of the FS, Oliviia's programme had the lowest Base Value. In the FS, she was saved saved by the two girls behind her each having two falls. But, you can't always rely on something like that happening.

But, the big positive to take away from this is that her run of Medals continues. She has now won medals in her last 18 events. 😲 The last time she competed and did not stand on the podium was in December 2022! :jaw:

:cheer: WELL DONE OLIVIIA!!! :cheer:

I apologise for it being so long since I posted in this thread.

Since my previous summary post, Marilena has competed in two further events, and has also changed both of her programmes. First, she went back to her 2022-23 Season FS at the Bosphorus Cup (links to reports in the aforementioned previous post). Then she competed at the EDU Sport Trophy in Romania.

SP Report; FS Report

But then she introduced a brand new SP at the Bulgarian Championships.

Yes, you heard me correctly. I did say the Bulgarian Championships. Varvara and Marilena were entered as guest skaters. Although it totally took me by surprise that Marilena was competing there, it was not a big surprise to see Varvara's name. Varvara belongs to the Denkova-Staviski club, and she has competed in domestic events in Bulgaria before.

Angelina and Ilia were also supposed to compete at the EDU Sport Trophy, but withdrew. But they are due to compete again today at the Sofia Trophy, starting their SD in 8 hours from now.

More Info

Tomorrow, Varvara will join them in action. You've guessed it, this is another event hosted by the Denkova-Staviski club.

Varvara is also entered for the Volvo Open Cup next week, along with Vasilisa. But, whether Varvara does do back-to-back events remains to be seen.

The next event that Stefania is entered for is Skate Helena in Serbia, in 3 weeks from now.

I'm not sure when Oliviia is next in action. However, she announced a month ago that she is retiring her "Bloody Mary" programme (last season's Basic Novice FS, which became this season's Advanced Novice SP). On the one hand, it's a shame because I absolutely loved it. To the extent that it was my favourite programme of last season, full stop. But, to be honest, I don't think the tactic of taking her two existing FS programmes and changing them to fit the Advanced Novice requirements worked. Both of them lost the magic that they had previously had in their original configuration.

Looking forward to seeing what she brings out as her new SP.

Angelina and Ilia will be making their Senior Major debut today at the European Championships. And as such, it will be the first time that Cyprus has been represented in Ice Dance at a Senior Major. Their Warm-Up sarts in 4 hours from now.

More info in their Fan Fest thread.

Meanwhile, Stefania will be competing at Skate Helena in Serbia tomorrow and Sunday. I'll post more details in her Fan Fest tomorrow.

While we are on the subject of Stefania, the entries for Junior Worlds were announced yesterday. Stefania has got the call up, with Varvara as first reserve and Vasilisa as second reserve. Earlier in the season, I think we all were expecting the reverse of that order to be the case, with Vasilisa getting the slot. But, on more recent form, it is the correct call.

What a turnaround my baby girl has had from the issues that plagued her last season!

On a different note, I visited the CSF website the other day, and noticed that some of the pages have been updated. I actually went there because I had seen on somebody's ISU Bio that they were being coached by an Olga Parshina. I knew that Liza Parshina's mother wasn't called Olga, but I just could not remember what her name actually was, and it was really bugging me. So, I thought that the quickest way to check would be to visit the Coaches page on the CSF website.

Anyway, the Coaches page has been completely changed, and now lists the coaches of the international team members rather than the local coaches. And there were a couple of things that raised my eyebrows.

Firstly, neither Anna Levandi nor Jelena Muhhina were on the list. But Oliviia's mother, Irina Moiseeva, was. Does that mean that Oliviia is no longer working with Anna and Jelena, and is now being coached by her mother? Apart from having the same name as a famous Russian Ice Dancer, I didn't realise that Irina had connections to the ice herself.

Secondly, Ilia Karankevich was on the list. I don't know how long he has been coaching for, but it would have been a good way for him to keep ice sharp while Angelina was out of action with the broken leg.

The other major change I spotted was the slideshow on the top of the pages. With the exception of Daniella Vanessa Ipsarides, all of the old guard have been removed, and replaced with the current skaters. Out go Polina Ustinova, Giorgia Isabella Sechi, and the photo of Nikita Vitryanyuk and three of the girls facing away from the camera so as to show off the Cypriot flag on the back of their jackets. In come Marilena Kitromilis, Stefania Yakovleva and Varvara Abramkina. The photo of Angelina Kudryavtseva / Ilia Karankevich from the old version of the slideshow remains, but they now also have a second, more recent photo.

As a long time fan of the team, it is sad to see the old guard go. These were the skaters that grew up in the Cypriot system when it was in it's infancy; made Cyprus a regular feature on the international stage; and laid the foundations for the skaters that followed them.

But, at the same time, it is good to see some of the current skaters getting the recognition. We just need to get Vasilisa and Oliviia added as well. Because I have a feeling that they are skaters that will be the ones to watch for the future.

Hopefully the next stage will be to update the Results section, so that we have Entries / Results pages for the Nationals that have been held since 2019...

Some of the Cypriot team are in action today and tomorrow. And if I told you where the events are being held, you would know straight away who it was competing there!

Stefania will be in action at the Union Figure Skating Trophy in Abu Dhabi, the UAE. Whilst it is not the rink she trains at, it is at least in the same country.

More info in her Fan Fest thread.

The Junior Ladies SP is due to start in 9 hours from now, with Stefania being the first to skate.

I'm glad she is back in action so soon afer Skate Helena. With Junior Worlds coming up, she needs to get the Skate Helena FS away from the front of her mind.

Vasilisa was supposed to be joining Stefania, but she withdrew before the event started.

Meanwhile, Angelina and Ilia will be in action at the Egna Dance Trophy, in Egna / Neumarkt, Italy. In other words, the rink they train at.

More info in their Fan Fest thread.

The Short Dance is due to start in 9h 39m from now, with Angelina and Ilia starting their Warm-Up in 10h 9m from now.

Again, competing so soon after the European Championships will help to get over the disappointment of just missing out on getting to the Free Dance by such a small margin.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST TO ALL OF THEM!!! :cheer:

Well, we were supposed to have 3 of the girls from Cyprus in action today. But, after a busy few weeks competing in Belgrade (SRB), Abu Dhabi (UAE), and Debrecen (HUN), Stefania has opted to give the Maria Olszewska Memorial in Łódź, Poland, a miss.

However, Varvara and Marilena will be in action at the Sonja Henie Trophy in Oslo, Norway.

The two competitions are being run back-to-back.

More info about the Junior Ladies in Varvara's Fan Fest thread.

More Info about the Senior Ladies in Marilena's Fan Fest thread.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

Of course, it was a massive disappointment that Marilena did not achieve the minimum TES to be able to compete at her hometown World Championships a couple of weeks ago. But, the good news is that her season is not over yet. She will be competing today at the Black Sea Ice Cup in Kranevo, Bulgaria.

The Senior Ladies SP is due to start in 10 hours from now. Marilena will be the 8th to skate.

More Info about the Senior Ladies in Marilena's Fan Fest thread.

And Varvara and Stefania will be joining her in Kranevo. The Junior Ladies SP is being held earlier in the day, starting in 5h 27m from now.

Varvara will be the 14th to skate.

More Info in Varvara's Fan Fest thread.

Stefania will be the 30th to skate.

More Info in Stefania's Fan Fest thread.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

Wow! What a weekend it was for the skaters from Cyprus that went to Kranevo.

Unfortunately, Stefania was one of many withdrawals from Junior Ladies before the SP.

Varvara was there (unsurprisingly!), and she was lying in 10th After the SP. But then she finished 3rd in the FS, just 0.02 points behind the girl in 2nd position. Which earned her the overall 🥉 Bronze Medal!!!

But, it gets better. In Seniors, Marilena won the SP!!! Then she finished 2nd in the FS, which meant that she won the overall 🥇 Gold Medal!!!!!!

:cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

And when I looked at her ISU Bio afterwards, I made a discovery. Marilena has changed coaches. Rather than training alongside Stefania with Sergei KOMOLOV (RUS) in Dubai (UAE); she is now training alongside Varvara with Andrei LUTAI (RUS) and Ina DEMIREVA (BUL) in Sofia (BUL).

You know, I really should have realised that when Marilena appeared as a guest skater at the Bulgarian Championships back in December. :slink:

I can see advantages and disadvantages to this move.

Andrei and Ina have a good track record as coaches. They can draw on their years of experience both as coaches and as competitors. Andrei was a top Singles skater himself. And although she didn't quite reach the heights that big sister Albena DENKOVA (BUL) did, Ina was a good Ice Dancer. And I always feel that it is a massive benefit for a Singles skater to have an Ice Dancer as part of their coaching team.

Sergei hasn't the same level of experience as a coach or as a competitor. That said, he has done wonders with Stefania, and because of that is building up his reputation.

Given that Stefania is probably moving up to Seniors next season, it makes sense for Marilena and Stefania to be in different camps. I admit, I had been worried about divided loyalties and conflicts of interest arising once they start both competing in Seniors. But now, that is no longer an issue. Sergei will be able to go back to concentrating fully on Stefania.

But, this brings us to my main worry. Andrei and Ina coach a LOT of skaters. Will Marilena be able to get enough attention from them? After the problems she has had with her knee injury, she needs to be the focus of attention. Not just one of a crowd.

We'll just have to wait and see how things pan out next season.

CaroLiza_fan

It turns out that the reason that Stefania was not at the Black Sea Ice Cup is that she was doing the Triglav Trophy a few days later instead. And the run of good form for the Cypriot skaters continued...

Stefania did exactly the same in Juniors in Slovenia as Marilena did in Seniors in Bulgaria a week earlier. First, she won the SP. Then she finished 2nd in the FS, which meant that she won the overall 🥇 Gold Medal!!!!!!

:cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

Stefania and Marilena have had a rollercoaster ride the past couple of seasons with their injury issues, and now they both win international competitions within days of each other.

And now I can't wait for Nationals, to find out what happens when they go up against each other for the first time. (I am assuming Stefania will be making her Senior debut at Nationals). Going in having each won a Gold Medal on the international circuit in the past few days will give both of them confidence, which will make for a very exciting battle.

I just hope the CSF publish all the details about Nationals this year. With the prospect of really exciting, hard-to-predict-the-outcome duels in both Junior Ladies and Senior Ladies, it would be a travesty if we were not able to follow what was happening.

CaroLiza_fan

Oooh, there is a lot happening this week.

First of all, I must apologise. Last night, I was trying to find out if there was any word of when Nationals was. And when I went to the Amathusia club's Facebook page, I found out that they had a skater competing at the 55th edition of the Volvo Open Cup yesterday morning. I didn't even know that event was happening, never mind that there was somebody from Cyprus competing! :drama:

Alina Makhmutova (AMA) was competing in the Chicks C competition.

Unfortunately, I was too late to see her on the stream, as it was taken down as soon as the broadcast finished. However, a fancam video has been uploaded to the Amathusia club's Facebook page.

:cheer: ALINA WON THE 🥉 BRONZE MEDAL!!! :cheer:

:cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

Volvo Open Cup Chicks C Ladies FS: Results; Protocols
Volvo Open Cup Chicks C Ladies: Results

Alina finished 3rd out of 22 in the FS, with a score of 19.06.

Not bad, especially considering she had two elements invalidated! (Please be aware that I think there are mistakes in the Protocols, as the asterisks denoting invalid elements don't correspond with where the dashes are in the columns for the Judges marks). As a result, she had the lowest TES of the Top 12 skaters. HOWEVER, she had the second highest PCS of the entire field, bettered only by the winner.

Alina finished the Free Skate 0.57 points behind 2nd position, and 0.70 points ahead of 4th position. I normally use a gap of 2 points to denote a group, but there were no gaps that big in the entire field. However, if we use a gap of 1 point, then the three of them were the top three skaters in a group of 20 skaters covered by 8.73 points, stretching down to 21st position, 8.16 points behind Alina.

I have to admit, I hadn't come across Alina before. But when I saw the video, I was impressed. Sure, you could see the mistakes, but the rest of it looked very good.

And I've got another little witch! :cheer: She was wearing a black dress, and skating to "Harry Potter" music (I haven't seen any of the films, so I don't know which one).

This little girl could be somebody to keep an eye on for the future.

:cheer: WELL DONE ALINA!!! :cheer:

Right, so as to make things easier for me when the time comes that Alina is old enough to get her own Fan Fest, the things I was planning to discuss in this post will now be going into a separate post.

CaroLiza_fan

As I was saying, there is a lot happening this week.

Much to my surprise, Vasilisa is one of only three skaters not based in the Americas to be entered in the México Cup, being held in Santiago de Querétaro (MEX) later this week. The Junior Ladies SP is on Friday, and the FS is on Saturday.

This could be a real challenge for her. Although not as high as México City (2,240m), the altitude of Santiago de Querétaro (1,820m) is pretty much the same as the altitude of Colorado Springs (1,839m). And we have seen skaters that are used to skating nearer to sea level really struggling to breathe at lots of competitions in Colorado Springs over the years.

So, I hope her team have been preparing her for the altitude.

On a brighter note, three former team members are celebrating their birthdays this week! :hb:

Katya turns 21 on Thursday, Danai turns 22 on Saturday, and Eliana turns 24 on Sunday.

More about those when the times come.

A bit different looking to last year's allocations. In Ladies last year, Cyprus had two slots and three skaters vying for them. And in Ice Dance, they had six slots and no partnerships.

This year's allocations work a lot better. Stefania has already confirmed that she is moving up to Seniors. So, Varvara and Vasilisa will be able to have two slots apiece, and there will be another slot going spare (I hope it can be kept as a backup).

Now it's just a case of finding out who goes where.

I am assuming the Men's, Pairs, and Ice Dance slots are not going to be used this year either. But, it would be nice to see Cyprus represented in some, if not all, of these categories.

CaroLiza_fan

For the second of our Cypriot birthdays this week, it is the turn of Danai Hadjimitsi.

:cheer: HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY DANAI!!! :cheer:

:cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

I hope you have an enjoyable day, and that the coming year is a good one for you.

When wishing Giorgia a happy birthday last month, I mentioned that I met her 7 ½ years ago. Well, the intention was actually to meet both of the Glace club skaters. But, unfortunately, it wasn't possible to arrange a time and place with Danai. Which I have regretted ever since.

However, a year or two before that, I did actually see both Giorgia and Danai on the ice. I was at MyMall going around the shops, and they were having a training session. And I watched them from the balcony for a while. So, although I have never met her properly, Danai has the honour of being one of the first two figure skaters that I saw in real life.

Danai and the other Cypriot skaters around the same age (Zea Maria, Maria Eleni, Nikoletta, Chryso, Christiana) were very unfortunte to reach Junior age at the time when Polina and Daniella were in a very tight battle to be the top Junior skater. Because it meant nobody else got a look in for the Junior GP slots. And ultimately, it led to all of them retiring early (apart from Christiana, who carried on for longer. But, her mother is a coach, so it was not surprising).

It was such a shame, because Danai certainly deserved to get the opportunity to make her Junior GP debut. At her first Junior Nationals, Danai was best of the rest behind Daniella and Polina, and ahead of two older girls (Eliana and Giorgia) who would go on to make their Junior GP debuts after the Top 2 moved on from Juniors.

What I didn't know at the time was that as well as being Danai's first Nationals in Juniors, this would also be her swansong competition. 😞

But, at least we have the memories.

Anyway, I hope she is enjoying her birthday.

CaroLiza_fan

I've already posted this in Angelina and Ilia's Fan Fest, but thought I should post it here too.

Just took my daily look at the Cyprus Mail's website, and found that they posted an interview with Ilia yesterday:

https://cyprus-mail.com/2025/05/16/a-minute-with-ilia-karankevich-professional-figure-skater

It was a very interesting read. He really has his head screwed on.

One of the things I found out that I didn't know before was that Ilia and his family used to live in 🇴🇲 Oman. Another of my kids, Amani Fancy, also used to live there. So, I wonder if they have ever spoken, and compared notes.

I know it is a set set of questions, but I always laugh when they ask young people "What would you say to your 18-year-old self?" For goodness sake, it is only just over three years ago that he was 18!

By the way, Marilena was featured in the same column back in February 2022. See this post for more info about it.

I wonder who the next skater they interview will be... 🤔

Enjoy!

CaroLiza_fan

And for the final birthday in May, it is the turn of Oliviia Bazlova.

:cheer: HAPPY 12th BIRTHDAY OLIVIIA!!! :cheer:

I hope you have an enjoyable day, and that the coming year is a good one for you, both on and off the ice.

And I hope your Mum has made you a lovely cake! 🎂

For those that didn't pick up on me mentioning it before, Oliviia's Mum has a cake shop in Limassol. I have seen photos on Facebook of things she has made for Oliviia's previous birthdays, and they are simply amazing!

What can I say about Oliviia?! The first time I saw her competing in a domestic competition in Estonia, I knew this little girl was special. So young, so tiny, but so good! I couldn't believe what I was seeing. She was doing perfect jumps like they were going out of fashion! :drama:

That was the first time I had seen somebody skating to "Bloody Mary" by Lady Gaga, and I absolutely loved everything about the programme. To me, she and her team got everything spot on. I even went as far as saying that it was my favourite programme from that season. Although I have seen other people skate to the same song since then, none of them have come close to Oliviia.

Ach, I can't help myself. Here's a video of the original version of her "Bloody Mary" FS (before it was re-worked into an SP):

Oliviia Bazlova - 2023 Tallinn Trophy FS

This girl is going to be a star. And I am impatiently waiting for the time to come when Oliviia can make her Junior GP debut. She'll still be too young for Juniors this coming season, but the following season she'll be old enough. And I am sure that when she makes her Junior GP debut, she will surprise a lot of people. I just hope that Varvara and Vasilisa can earn enough slots this coming season so that all three of them can get two Junior GP outings in 2026.

In the meantime, I am so looking forward to seeing Oliviia's new programmes, and following how she gets on this coming season.

But more imminently, I hope she enjoys her birthday.

CaroLiza_fan

Two birthdays this week. And the first is for the younger of the Afxentiou sisters.

:cheer: HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY MARIA-NELLY!!! :cheer:

I hope you have an enjoyable day, and that the coming year is a good one for you, both on and off the ice.

Despite her young age, Maria-Nelly has been a stalwart of the Cypriot team since the start. She competed in the very first Cyprus Championships back in 2013, at Beginners level, where she was up against girls that were much older than her.

Of course, it is hardly a surprise that she started skating so early. Her mother runs the Amathusia club!

A few weeks ago, I was looking up some of the old guard of the Cypriot team in preparation for doing some major maintenance work on this thread later in the summer, and I started watching some old videos that the Amathusia club had uploaded. I can't remember now which skater was the subject, but in the background of one of the videos I saw this pre-school child on the ice wearing a Russian Olympic team jacket being helped by an adult. And I realised straight away that it was Maria-Nelly and her mother. And I couldn't help but go "awwww"!!!

During the pandemic, the Amathusia club posted quite a few videos of Maria-Nelly training on roller skates on the promenade in Limassol. However, although she continued training off ice, it is clear that not being on the ice for so long had an effect. At the first post-pandemic Nationals in 2023, she scored over 10 points lower at Intermediate Novice level than she did at Basic Novice level at the 2020 Sofia Trophy, her last competition before the lockdowns started. A friend of mine that was there said she was really struggling.

I don't know whether Maria-Nelly is still active, or has moved on from competitive skating. But, whatever her status, I hope she has a great Sweet 16.

CaroLiza_fan

Now that both of them have posted about it, look who Marilena and Varvara have been training with:

https://www.instagram.com/p/DLGOyi8Iwnz/

:jaw:

Varvara has posted a video, but her album has photos of other things (mostly horses 🐎 ) before you get to it. So, I'll just post a direct link to the video rather than embedding it:

https://www.instagram.com/p/DLZfVgoIyqz/?img_index=5

For those that don't know, their coach, Andrei Lutai, was coached by Mishin.

Learning from the best!

CaroLiza_fan

The new season may officially start in two days time, but the old season isn't quite over yet. Two of the skaters frm Cyprus are in action today and tomorrow.

As ever, Liubov and Natalia are competing in the ISU International Adult Competition in Oberstdorf. But, I think this is the first time that they are skating directly against each other in the same competitions.

The Silver III Ladies Artistic FS is due to start at 17:50:00 CEST (15:50:00 GMT / 16:50:00 BST / 18:50:00 EEST / 18:50:00 MSK). So 10 hours from now.

Liubov will be the 7th skater to start. So, first skater to go in Group 2.

Natalia will be the 18th skater to start. So, fifth skater to go in Group 3.

And that is as much as I can tell you because the Time Schedule PDF's are not working,

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before them withdraws.

Hope this helps

It's that time of year again, when I do my annual maintenance to this thread. But this year, it is a major overhaul. Well, the thread has been going for 10 years now.

65 years ago, on 16th August 1960, Cyprus gained it's independence from the UK. And today, 16th August 2025, seven skaters are gaining their independence from this thread. All the skaters who have competed at ISU run events who still had profiles in this thread now have their own Fan Fest threads:

Liubov SAVINOVSKAYA
Natalia NOVOSELOVA STYLIANOU
Kristina DUBROVSKAYA
Polina USTINOVA
Giorgia Isabella SECHI
Eliana KALOGIROU
Daniella Vanessa IPSARIDES

In addition to this, five skaters that I missed out making profiles for at the time are being added to this thread:

Varvara GRIGORIEVA
Nikoleta MARKANTONI
Penelope ARTEMIS
Andrea LOIZIDES
Uliana GUBAREVA

To be honest, all this is putting right things that I should have done all along. The skaters that are being moved out should have had their own threads from the start. But at the time I created the country thread, I wasn't sure if there would be enough interest in Cypriot skating to warrant creating so many threads. Similarly, the skaters I am adding to this thread should have had profiles long ago. But I was worried about having too many skater profiles at the start of this thread.

Please bear with me while I move the posts about the skaters that now have their own threads.

And don't worry, this thread will be moved back in the "Skate Of The Nations" forum when I am finished everything.

Hopefully this will set things up for the next 10 years.

CaroLiza_fan

It is now time to wish a happy birthday to one of the skaters that was belatedly added to the start of this thread two days ago.

:cheer: HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY NIKOLETA!!! :cheer:

:cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

I hope you have an enjoyable day, and that the coming year is a good one for you.

Nikoleta Markantoni is a skater whose name I always kept coming across, and who I kept seeing in pictures. However, there are no videos of her on YouTube, so I have never actually seen a skating programme from her.

It was this lack of content that led me to skip Nikoleta when originally making out the team thread. That was a bad decision, and one that I have regretted for a very long time. Because although she never won a title at the Cyprus Championships, she was never off the podium. More than that, most of the time it was the 🥈 Silver Medal that she went home with.

So, I can only apologise to her profusely. Nikoleta now has the place at the start of this thread that she has long deserved.

Anyway, I hope she is enjoying her birthday.

CaroLiza_fan

I really wanted the maintenance work finished and this thread restored to it's home in the "Skate Of The Nations" forum before today, but alas. 😞

All the posts that were to be physically moved have been moved. It's the copying and editing of the posts that discuss multiple skaters that I have been struggling to get fitted in this week.

But, don't worry, I will have time to do it after the weekend.

Firstly, the Junior Grand Prix Series is kicking off today in Riga, Latvia. And there has been a lot of confusion since the entries were released over whether Varvara would be there or not. She was not on the initial Provisional Entry List. But then she was added a week later. And then she was removed a week after that.

Varvara has also been removed as the alternate to Vasilisa at the third Junior GP in Varese, Italy.

I hope everything is alright with her.

But now, the big news.

The day we have all been waiting for has arrived. Not only is Stefania making her Senior level debut at the Robin Cousins Cup, but this will be the first head-to-head between her and Marilena.

The Senior Ladies SP is due to start today at 15:11:00 BST (14:11:00 GMT / 17:11:00 EEST / 17:11:00 MSK / 18:11:00 GST). So 9 hours from now.

Marilena will be the 4th skater to start. So, fourth and penultimate skater to go in Group 1.

Stefania will be the 10th and penultimate skater to start. So, fifth and penultimate skater to go in Group 2.
