For me, Patrick Chan is the male Michelle Kwan....he knows how to electrify the arena

When I saw Patrick skate at the trophée Bompard, I was definitly impressed. His choreography wasn't anything in particular, but he really knew how to interpret it. I hope he continues to have that fire in him that makes him skate with so much energy.

Another thing I admire--especially after watching the Evan vs. Johnny US Nationals rivalry fluff--is how much Jeff and Patrick geniunely respect and admire each other despite their fierce rivalry on the ice.

Another Patrick/Kwan similarity. (Did Michelle ever talk about any of her competitors the way Johnny and Evan talk about each other?)

Well, Patrick made a faux pas when he said he thought 4th place Vaughn Chipeur should also be going to Worlds (bypassing bronze medalist Shawn Sawyer). I'm sure he didn't mean it as a diss to Sawyer, but it's best not to make statements about fellow team members that can be interpreted negatively.

I don't see a comparison between Chan and Kwan, anyway. Kwan was already a two-time World Champion and silver Olympic medalist at 17, and she was known for her consistency. Chan has performed just one clean FS this season. As another poster said, he seems to run out of gas and make mistakes in the last 10-20 seconds of his program.

He is an excellent skater and may someday be a great one, but he isn't there yet.
