make the trip, or will she stay home and train for Worlds?Of the skaters who qualify, I wonder who will go and who will decline. For the ladies, It looks like a blockbuster so far if all of the Japanese designes (Asada, Ando and Suguri) show up, along with Kim.
The U.S. ladies usually bail on Four Continents (I blame Michelle for setting the trend, LOL), unless it is in North America. Will 2008 U.S. ladies' chanmpion Alissa Czisnymake the trip, or will she stay home and train for Worlds?
Last year it was in Colorado Springs. Not only was that convenient for North American skaters, the USFSA might have forced them to go to make the event a success. The top three U.S. ladies went, along with Rochette.Well last year the entire ladies podium went (Meissner Gold, Hughes Silver) on top of going to worlds, so why not this year?

Japan, in contrast, sent Sawada and Onda (Suguri withdrew) and Korea was represented by Yea-Ji Shin and Na-Young (not Young-Na) Kim.
This year, in Asia, it could switch.
That's always a good point to get in as much comp as possible. However, the location is a problem. 4CC are spread over half the world, whereas Euros are in a tight knit group of countries and easy to get to.I think it would be a good chance for those who struggle with nerves to get a practice at a competition setting. Like Mao and Miki and Carolina. Among the top ladies, Mao and Carolina may need to work on their nerves at competitions more than any.
so the Grand Prix Final is NOT and ISU championship. funny. i thought it was.
I think it has to be an ISU event because the ISU uses the results for their World Standings.I don't think so. Championships would, I believe, allow skaters of all countries to participate (ie. each ISU-member coutry can send at least one skater/team per discipline per championship), which is not the case for the Grand Prix series and Final. Yes, these competitions are governed by the ISU, but they are not championships.Kypma
