Thanks, Floatingworld! Perfect!
Most welcome!Alas, I don't speak French fluently so I can't translate for others ... though I understood parts of the interview since I learned some French in school (and I love watching French movies
). Maybe as G&G continues with their success it will motivate me to continue learning so that I can follow French coverage of them.

A quick digest:
the anchor starts by reminding everyone that the OG are 58 days away and by announcing that G/G just won the GPF with yet another WR. G/G acknowledge that they are satisfied with their results in this first half of the skating season. The sports anchor gives a very quick and simple explanation between Pair work and Ice Dance requirements.
G/G say that their 1. place in Nagoya is the sign that they are on the right path and that their practice/work is bearing fruit. They hope to make further progress up to the OG. The journalist gives an overview of their career and ask them to comment on it. G/G say that they tend to forget what they have achieved as they mainly focus on their practice. Rivalry with V/M: Guillaume says that they are relieved to know that they can win against them and to be able to deliver a good performance under pressure. They do train alongside V/M but not everyday . Having them as training partners has the positive effect of pushing their own limits. The tension between competitors is very manageable as both couple appreciate/admire each other's work. Competition in sports at its best: emulation, stimulation but no negative feelings. They recognize V/M's great experience. They don't see themselves as absolute favorites, they have just beaten V/M once. Their goal until OG is to continue working on being mentally strong, being in their own "bubble" and keep their focus on their training. Music: was it a safe choice? Not really, says Gabi. Their discovered their affinity to classical music when they danced on Mozart and think that they have not yet finished exploring a style they initially didn't think they were suited for. They confirm that they are aiming for the Gold and that their GPF helped them as it was the first time this season with the all the main competitors. They also mentioned that the video work they did with l' Or (Olympic sponsor) was satisfying for them: showing them at work with their work clothes as opposed to the 4 minutes of performance during competitions with costumes.
As I told you, it's a bit rough ... but is my little thank you to Floatingworld![]()

I've been lurking for far too long here and there and wanted to check for any info or translations for the slew of media ops Gaby and Guillaume have been up to these days and decided why not reply and say hi! Lia here, not an expert on figure skating but simply just in awe of how much beauty these two have brought to and performed through this sport
Thanks to everyone I'm slowly learning about technical things and as a non-French speaker I'm grateful for all the translations we get
If we ever do get Korean media ops in Pyeong Chang I could contribute as a Korean myself haha even though I wouldn't be able to watch them live. Looking forward to many more fun discussions here! HugsUnfortunately geoblocked for me, so could job those snippets were not on twitter. BTW Anyasnake, I meant to ask you if you could spot why they didn't get level 4 on the circular in the FD whereas they did in France. It looked pristine to my untrained eyes. Thanks in advance.
Welcome Charis, post often and long. We love rambling around about our favorite couple here. Plus, we're gonna hit a drought soon after French Nationals.

I'll try my best (with my time) to translate as much as I can or to at least post everything that I can find ! Fully agree, I think you pointed out perfectly what the difference is between GabGui and the others and even between GabGui now and GabGui before: the fact that they are not trying to explain what the music or the choreography means, but letting the music and the dance explain itself. Many thanks for this great video!
Catherine Pinard is definitely a very special coach in Gadbois. Apart from Gabriella and Guillaume, I am not sure who's being trained by her among the other ice dance couples. I don’t think she works with Tessa and Scott otherwise their interpretation and their connection on the ice would be very different. Just my personal impression but I really feel like Gabriella and Guillaume are the ice dancers the most in sync with Catherine Pinard. They understood the most how to find in themselves and share with each other the strength of their souls and their fragility as human beings to translate these strengths and fragilities on the ice and invite the audience feels his own emotions and feelings.
If we were to retain one thing from this interview, it would be for sure this sentence:
“We try to not put a sense onto things but to let the sense emerge from the things”
If one would like to describe in a few words how Gabriella and Guillaume managed to mesmerize the public since the 2014/2015 season, then this sentence says everything. No need to add anything else.
I’m sure you read at least once a comment stating P/C danced on similar music themes since a few years. So what do Mozart Concerto24, “Rain into my black eyes”, Stillness Oddudua and Moonlight Sonata have in common? Easy answer: Nothing! But one can clearly feel there’s something so typical to P/C in all these programs. Letting the sense emerge from the things is the common frame of their various FDs, independently from their different music choices (indeed big challenge!). Translating this on to the ice requires outstanding skating skills for a maximum of softness and emotions.
, and the only similarity in music one could accept is 'Rain', 'Stillness' and 'Happiness' - I love all of it and have not the slightest wish to have other music, but you could say that these are all three minimalistic repetitive styles of music - if you really have to nitpick about something so silly.)My only wishes for the next quad are:
1. No Broadway musical type of program.
2. More work with Cirio, and exploring contemporary dance in general.
Totally agree, please no musical. More Cirio please also. They could work on more radical movements, more staccato and very avant garde dance with. So they would need to let go a bit of their extremely fluidity. It would be a nice challenge. It would push more towards music like Oddudua. It could also be music with lots of dissonance.
Well, here's something. DéliSport vous sert un café glacé en or. Ou un thé dansant sur glace croustillante.youpitralala http://www.canalplus.fr/sport/pid1765-infosport.html?vid=1473719![]()
