Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

wait so you're saying p/c's skating skill is better than shibs? ummm I don't think skating skill is the thing that p/c is that much superior to the shibs. Cizeron is definitely great if we're talking about skating skill but i'm not sure about gabby. it's p/c's thread I don't wanna say bad thing about them, but in my opinion one of the biggest weakness of p/c is the gap between their skating skill, both v/m and shibs are wayyyy more balanced.

The Shibs cannot dance. Sorry to break it to you. And stop spreading this myth about Gabby's skating skills.

Hey guys !
If you're curious to know what Gabriella and Guillaume skating to "Tristan and Isolde" would look like, take a look :

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nXJG7JUlR3Q

I did my best to synchronize the music with their movements...and I added a nice edit at the end of the video :-)
(However the quality of the video is not so good, I'm sorry...I had originally posted a version with their 2018 Worlds performance...but it's been blocked 😩)
I would love to see them skate on a wagnerian piece, it would suit their style so perfectly...
So if any of you watch it, give me your impressions 😊
Thanks ❤️

Oh wow! Yes, such impressive work, Whiteboredom! The fluidity of their movements become more prominent with 'Tristan and Isolde'. I've actually always been in love with this music, particularly when it was used so well in the beginning of Lars Von Trier's movie 'Melancholia'.

Thank you!!!And YES they are perfection as always....

I found that interview of Guillaume...please if somebody can tell us what is it about;;;Thank you!!!

He's mostly talking about touring in small french cities (here it's Epinal) and meeting the public, the renovated ice rink etc... and what they're going to do after the holidays, preparation for the new season and that doing cardio is the less fun part of the sport.

Thank you very much 😊 !
I'm glad you like it !
I agree, "Tristan und Isolde" is a masterpiece, and this prelude enhances the amplitude and the quality of their movements. I thought it was a perfect match...
(Especially when you know that Tristan and Isolde wish they could merge into one - the famous "Ich bin Tristan"/"Ich bin Isolde" area - and Gabi and Guillaume move just as if they were one being, embracing the poetry of it all).
"Melancholia" was remarquable, as most of Lars Von Trier's movies (although I understand some explicit contents from his filmography are not everybody's cup of tea...But it's not the case in Melancholia).
Anw, thank you very much !

For those in the U.S., NBC (regular network channel, not NBCSN) is showing a recap of the world figure skating championships in Milan at this very moment (3 p.m. ET or 2 p.m. CT). It is just starting. I hope they show G & G with Tanith Belbin's commentary as I always look forward to hers. This is the only broadcast in the US of the championships that is shown on free basic TV programming. All others required more than basic subscriptions.

Thank you very much 😊 !

Most welcome! You must be speaking of the Lars Von Trier movies with Charlotte Gainsbourg. :-)

I'm afraid it's a widespread belief now.

This is my first post here but this idea that GP can’t skate has caught my interest because I can’t understand it. It seems to me that even if this belief were widespread, it would matter by whom such an opinion is held. All beliefs are not equal in that there’s a huge difference between a pronouncement made by those with the professional expertise to make such a judgment and those fans who are more in the “I know what I like” category. I have no professional expertise whatsoever when it comes to ice dancing but I have been watching the trajectory of this pair with great interest and I am forced to wonder how it is that so many medals are won (and so many world records broken) by someone who can’t skate. Are you really suggesting that all these accolades are being awarded to Guillaume Cizeron in spite of his skating partner? This seems pretty implausible to me.

Super ... and well deserved.
Their french tour ends in a week; soon the holidays. :yahoo:
I just hope they can really disconnect and rest for a long time. A gala in Japan in May? A medal at the Elysee Palace ...?
A great break to rest and rejuvenate, they really need it after such a long and rich season!
