I am not sure about what to think of the costumes :/ Guigui looks like he's planning a bachelor's night out and Gabby looks like she is in training. I really can't imagine these outfits work on Oblivion.
Guillaume needs to find a more noble material for the shirt, something very traditional and not showy. And Gabby should wear something more humble, I don't like the one shoulder thing especially since both of her arms are not covered. It looks like a fan tore her dress and left Gabby sleeveless . Oh I am praying for Guillaume to do better designs :hap85:

I'm not going to judge costumes from a couple of small photos, but I will say that they often look better in movement than in stills.

Thank you! It sounds from this like Lambiel played a role similar to Jeffrey Cirio last year for Moonlight Sonata, but on-ice, and I think the result is going to be very interesting because I do see a lot of similarities between his way of skating and Guillaume's. And I do agree with Romain Haguenauer that they haven't peaked yet, but I can hardly imagine what they'll be capable of when they do!

Absolutely agree about the similarities between Stephane and Guillaume in terms of dance aesthetic and sensibility. They are true dancers and could both have been ballet dancers imo. So it is great for Guillaume to draw inspiration from him and expand on his already great range of movements. I have big hope for the spinning ones even though Guillaume is already the class of the field in everything twizzling and sliding on ice for the past seasons now. I'm sure they have more to give because they seem to have rich lives outside the rink especially within the arts so it will fuel their creativity for years to come.

Such an absurd situation tbh I'm quite annoyed but prefer to laugh about it because it makes life more fun but still ... Anyway, let's keep this thread civil and focus on Gaby and Guillaume who we hope will delight us in less than 10 days (crossing fingers, toes and everything available )

These costumes aren't designed by Guillaume, but Gadbois' team designer, "Feeling Mathieu Caron".

Okay, they should just stop working with him.

I went over his portfolio. It just doesn't fit Gabriella and Guillaume. I find his designs old-fashioned, outdated, showy and heavy (the dance section is the worst IMO). Guillaume did much better and without any fashion background up his belt.
I hope he did not stop because of Gabriella's dress issue. He was doing a great job so far.

Both their SD and FD costumes were darlings of the skating "fashion" commentators last season. The FD costumes topped almost every list and they looked fantastic weather in stillness or in motion. I trust Guillaume's taste and hope that the Master's costumes were only there because they hadn't had enough time to make their own designs.

Also, in some of the recent photos Gabby looks as though she's gained some muscle. She's said in the past that she didn't lift weights, so I don't know if there's a change in her physical training (for those new lifts?) or if it's just the angle of those photos.

I noticed also... I do hope that she is not going overboard with weight lifting to condition her muscles because so much of her magic is linked to how light and "flowy" she comes across. She needs a super strong core but not heavy muscles, imo.

I'm sure Gabi and her team know what physical conditioning needs to do her job well - and can judge how it's going far better than we can from a couple of photos!

Maybe they want her to gain ‘power’ in her skating. When compared to Hubbel, for example, ‘they’ say Gabby isn’t as powerful. I’ve never really understood this perception and why it is important (to be powerful). Is Scotty Berish still their physical trainer?

Didn't they say that they wanted them to be more "complicated"? Didn't they train with Circus Artists to archive that?
Maybe you need more muscle to succesfully complete them.

Guillaume has taken down his Instagram post announcing their withdrawal from NHK, probably to avoid confusing people in the runup to IdeF. I'm taking it as another good sign that everything is on track for next weekend!

Yes, I can see how the lifts require more muscle, but when I think about some of the prominent pairs skaters (like Gordeeva), they aren’t necessarily muscular. I may be wrong though. What I am afraid of is that Gabby is being trained to be more muscular for the sake of simply appearing to be ‘powerful’ (like Hubbell) when skating and that this also is an image that conforms to an ideal in current society for women to build muscle (e.g., celebrities like Jessica Biel, Michelle Obama, etc.).
