Which is your least favorite household chore?

Shopping for Groceries
Vacuuming the house
Doing the Wash/ironing
Taking out the Garbage
Washing the car
Cleaning
All of the above
Other...

After a very frustrating grocery shopping experience tonight in the pouring rain, I decided Grocery shopping is at the top of my "household chore hate list." I have a cold and felt horrible as I wandered aimlessly through the crowded grocery store. After the cashier made several mistakes on my bill, I still ended up parting with $80.00 for four small bags of groceries. I was too sick to even question her on some of the items so left dragging myself and my groceries to my car. Then I struggled to get them up to my apt. on the third floor. Soaking wet and tired! I hate grocery shopping.

All of the above, It's not called house WORK for nothing and I already have another full time job

Cleaning the bathrooms! I actually enjoy doing the laundry but hate folding and putting it away. Grocery shopping isn't so bad until it's time to lug it in the house and put it away. Of course, it all depends on how crowded the store is. When it's busy, it turns into a chore I hate. There aren't very many cleaning jobs that are to be liked. :(

I'm a full time student and full time employed. But I hate a dirty house and I live with two other roommates. I'm obsessed with clean floors and vacuum/mop on an everyday basis. I love cleaning the shower and when I get in the mood I get crazy with cleaning and my roommates come home and are shocked when they see the place. I don't mind doing laundry but I hate making my bed after doing the laundry. I hate hate hate grocery shopping and I only like cooking if it is for someone else!

I absolutely positively cannot STAND sweeping floors. I hate it and I'm lousy at it and it drives me up the wall! I will never again get an apartment with hardwood floors! I would rather vacuum than sweep ANY day of the week. Anything else I actually rather enjoy if I'm in the right frame of mind; certain types of housework (especially doing the dishes), I find actually to be rather a "centering" activity.

Cleaning toilets. Why hasn't someone invented a self-cleaning toilet? Same thing with bathtubs?

to expound on another poster... cleaning the shower walls. Once soap scum forms a permanant bond with the tile, I think only sulfuric acid or a blow torch will take it off. Perhaps the space shuttle people could use it to hold the tiles on the ship!

Have you tried "TILEX"? It's the only thing that I have found to take off the soap scum in my teenage sons bathrooms.

As for "household" chores I don't like doing any of it! :p

I hate carrying groceries in and unloading the dishwasher.

I hate cleaning anything associated with tile, because when you have tile, you have grout........so bathrooms are at the top of my "hate" list. I also dislike changing bedding.........42

Merrywidow, I'm with you. If someone could come up with a self-cleaning toilet, I'd be the first one in line to buy one. A self-cleaning tub would be great too.

    Thanks for the replies guys and gals, I am still laughing!!!!

Besides cooking, my least favorite chore may seem odd---I hate making the beds!!! I guess it comes from 17 years of my husband working constant night-shift....he got into bed before I got out, and by time he got up, I was tired from doing other stuff and wanted to have time with him while he was awake, so the bed only got made every 5 or 6 days when I changed the sheets. I also hate doing dishes....my dishwasher has been broken for 5 years or more...it's a convenient drying rack now, but wish I could replace it.
I don't mind doing laundry or vacuuming or grocery shopping or dusting or *shock* cleaning the bathrooms.

I do not like sweeping and/or washing the floor. Except for the bedrooms, my house is all tile.

Luckily, I have a cleaning lady every other week to save me from that chore! :)

Actually, I really don't mind cleaning the bathroom or doing laundry (although I admit it does sit unfolded for quite a while) or dishes or taking out the garbage or dusting--any of that stuff.

I wouldn't dream of washing my car--I tried a couple of times and did not do a very good job. That's why we have car washes!

I like cooking. I'm no gourmet chef, but I like preparing simple but tasty meals. I do, however, make the best Thanksgiving meals and my turkeys always come out perfect.

I like shopping for groceries--except for fruits and vegetables. I leave that to Mr. RG, because he complains that I buy the bad stuff and leave the good stuff at the store! So now HE has to buy the fruits and veggies!

I'm afraid I'm really guilty of one thing. I hate folding clothes, etc. Since my shower, etc. is in the utility room, my basket of clean towels, etc. sometimes never get folded. They sit on the dryer and get used before I get around to folding them and putting them away.

RealtorGal-I'll be visiting you for Thanksgiving! :D

Okay, but you will have to fly to Florida, because I'll be making the turkey at my Mother's house this year! :)

Toilet cleaning - well I am fanatic cleaner. I pretty much know when someone else use this particular toilet.. I am known to get upset if this toilet is left dirty by the person who just used it! Oh yeah... :rolleye:

Bathroom/workplace sink - why does it seems like no one wipe the water away except me and the very few sink-wipers left in this world  :D

I feel great and ready for the week when I iron my clothes. So, ironing is ok.

I don't mind groceries shopping because I love shopping. :p

I hate washing dishes or getting my hands wet all the time. My skin and nails are sensitive to soap. I am told it is a very lame excuse. :sheesh: :\

LOL on toilet cleaning!

My hubby is the technical guy in the family, and often jokes about inventions. He has made little robots before that do nothing productive. One evening I suggested that a toilet cleaning robot would be the perfect holiday gift. After several cocktails, here is the list of features I came up with for the Internet Enabled Complete Toilet Management Robot:

1) Clean the darn thing, of course.
2) Sense when TP roll is empty, get another roll, and actually put it on the little bar in the TP holder (is it just me, or is that a step that husbands forget about??)
3) Sense when seat lid has not been returned to the "down" position, and put it down.
4) Sense when the "flushing" part is incomplete, and continue flushing until the job is done.
5) Wipe seat in the event any "squatters" attend a party here.
6) Sense #2, and automatically squirt the appropriate amount of air freshener.

Any other features we should add to the plan? Oh...and who wants to get in line to buy one of these Internet Enabled Complete Toilet Management Robots in case the design phase should ever occur?

:)
