How to get skate tape residue gunk off?

Help! I'm at my wits end. How do I get skate tape gunk residue off of my skates? I want to heat mold these skates, but need to get the residue off first in order to avoid causing a liquid gunk mess.

So far I've tried using Clorox wipes, and magic erasers but haven't had much success with that.

Dilute some hydrogen peroxide with water and use sparingly to remove.
