Irina and Michelle

What a great rivalry between friends was between those two skaters.
Yesterday I was thinking about a thing. I suspect Irina and Michelle choosed together the music for their 2006 SP, that is Totentanz from Mrvica. This music is not a warhorse and is not really known. I really doubt that it was a coincidence. It is almost impossible, in fact.
They made it on purpose, maybe they even made a bet.

Unfortunately Michelle never showed that program at Olympics.

I've always thought that NBC had a hand in the "coincidence", although whether it involved both skaters, or, merely managed that TT (who was choreographing for Michelle that year) was to "encourage" Michelle to use that music (and she didn't know that Irina was also using it until later) is unknown.

Michelle never skated that program in competition. That was the only time she skated T and I believe it was at Marshalls. The rest is history. Thank you for posting the links of my two favorite skaters.

Well it is a sensible choice for Irina, she had used music by that artist before. It sounds like mucis that she would choose, powerful, fast. What is funny is that Michelle dug up that music. Yes, she must have known that Irina was gonna skate to it and choose the same music for that fun, for the drama.
