Italian Skaters

So, Fusar-Poli/Margauglio and Silvia Fontana returned to competition for the chance to skate at the Olympics in their home country. F-P/M have gone so far to say that they will win the gold medal - despite the fact that they have not competed against the rest of the world since the last Olympics. Silvia just wants the opportunity to compete at home and have a great skate as her husband (John Zimmerman) did in SLC.

They competed in the Italian Nationals a few weeks ago. F-P/M won over Faiella/Scali. Silivia came in second behind Carolina Kostner. However, they are MIA in Lyon for the Europeans. Anyone know why?

It was F-P&M decision to skip Euros, I'm not sure about Silvia. The Fed. named her for the Olympic team along with Caro and Caro and Valentina for Euros. I don't know if this decision matched Silvia's will to skip Euros or not. Anyway, I don't think it's a big deal for her not to be in Lyon as just like F-P&M she came back for the Olympics not for Euros or Worlds
