Jacob Sanchez

Didn't honestly pay much attention to Jacob before but his 4CCs' free skate has made me a fan. I hope he's working on a couple of quads because once he has them down consistent he's going to be hard to beat by most of his competitors. He has a grace and style about him and he isn't JUST a jumper. I wish him well. This skate ought to get him a couple of Gran Prix assignments next year! Watch out world!

Jacob took a while getting his 3A but then he got it! He's been improving steadily and he's very motivated. He's got a lot of promise. He is consistent and has a lot of personality and skating skills. This was a very good senior debut year! I hope that he can solidify at least one quad this year before he turns 19. Once he gets the muscle memory, he can build on that. His envelope for next season should be good and he can consider some specialized training to help him become more consistent with them.

Although I regret how it came about, I'm very excited for Jacob to be skating at Worlds to cap off his senior debut season! I hope he can make some memories and gain some valuable experience. I know Jacob is good friends with Ilia Malinin, and I hope it will cheer them both to be going to a big competition together.

While adding Jacob's gofundmes to the OP, I was inspired to add some extra things to it, including these articles:

Jacob Sanchez has a YouTube vlog. So far, he's posted highlights from his tour with SOI. And most recently a vlog entitled, A Day in the Life of a Pro Figure Skater. While his skills are pro level, he should probably say 'elite' figure skater since he's still in the eligible ranks. Anyway, he did not grow up in the era when amateur vs pro was such a deadly and unfair distinction.

Here's Jacob's latest vlog:

I learned he has two Rottweilers, Rocky and Nala. He's a dedicated gamer; he enjoys playing Fortnite with Ilia; he likes to stream, edit videos, and check out social media to stay in touch with fans; in the off-season, his practices are steady (post vacation & touring), but not overly intense; he plays with a soccer ball to warm up; he has a 'curly hair' routine; he performs a strange-looking series of repetitive prep exercises for incorporating a quad in his jump arsenal 🤔; one of his rink friends is Sasha ? [can anyone identify this blond guy; is he a U.S. junior?]; Jacob is conscientious and caring toward others (respectful of others' feelings and privacy). Things I already knew that are reinforced: Jacob is a beautiful skater, and a cool, laid-back, sweet young man. 👍

^^ Thanks so much for the info. I misheard Jacob's introduction of his rink friend. But, they were standing in a hallway at the rink, so the sound may have been impacted.
