Jason Brown

Vid of Jason answering questions from his Japanese fan club (almost all in English):

Adorable as always. And he hears the cheers, so those of you going to "Scare Me" (SkAm in Bing Japanese), let's yell:cheer:

Thanks for the clip, Golden.

Command, maturity and growth seem to be the main themes. Interesting to hear Jason confirm, as has been pointed out, that this year is for growing and trying new (jumps, steps,) knowing that he doesn't need to concentrate on the 2018 Olys quite yet.;)

And no harnesses!

Great article on Icenetwork on Jason

i think my favorite is

Yes, I had heard the Jason quotes on his audio conference, but not seen the Kori (or Vincent) quotes before. Not only do I hope the process works for Jason's sake, but also perhaps to encourage others to master spins, transitions, and performance *first*, and then the jumps.

I know, I'm dreaming, but what the heck....

I am looking forward to Skate America! And I'll try to give you guys some practice updates, as I plan to plunk myself down to watch the men practice early Thursday morning.

It is such an unpredictable field this year, and that is clearly reflected in the Predictions thread. Aside from a few stalwarts, most people seem to be predicting that Jason will place 3-5, maybe possibly second. And in this field it's entirely possible. Or not.

Im so excited to see the spiral sequence in person! Anything or anyone you guys want me to look out for - Jason or otherwise?

I'll be curious to see whether Jason's relative speed, power, flow and edges have improved. :)

Yes Please! thanks so much in advance.
Keep a look out for how Jason's quad is coming along...and I'm curious to see if Mura is looking good in the early season as we haven't seen him in any competitions yet; also, Shoma. Have fun!

Thx in advance, papagena :).

No pressure .... but in addition to any notes on Jason , I know that karne and I would love to hear anything you happen to observe about Max.

And channeling karne, I know that she would love to hear anything about Brendan too.

Thx again, and have a great time :yay:.

thankyou soooo much papagena! I would also love to hear about SnuggleBat and Brendan!

golden411, you know me too well

Golden & Karne, I must confess that when I made the "anyone else" offer I was thinking of both of you! Of course I will watch Max and Brendan and report what I can. And yes of course Jason and the quad tho not sure how good I will be at spotting < in person. And Newbie, yes of course to Shoma and Mura. And Han Yan and D10! It's such a very rich field and I feel privileged to be able to see it in person. I am also really looking forward to the ladies, and shockingly for me am even looking forward to pairs & dance. Although I wish Orford Hill were there!;)

Thank you Papagena!

To be honest, I will read any little tidbit about any of the skaters with gusto

I was fortunate enough to watch him "in the flesh" in Bratislava. His spiral sequence is to die for!!! He also is one of the few who usually does the complete programme during the practice run through with music, with all the details. I love both programmes but especially the Free is just out of the world. He ought to be the only guy who makes me cry during the practice!!!

Welcome to Golden Skate, MGstyle! Post often and long (especially if it's awesome competition reports!).

Thank you for your report from Bratislava.

Thank you Papagena for your offer of practice (and other) reports; looking forward to them.

Can I also say how pleased I am that you also mentioned Orford/Hill, if only in passing? I do see them, in attitude on the ice, as the Jason of ice dancers (granted, I don't know much about ice dance, but mostly because when I first started it wasn't even an Olympic sport, with some American [married?] couple that seemed lively and nice but basically did the same five steps around the rink. Then again, that is my memory, which could be completely wrong!) If Jason and O/H make worlds, I may need to start walking the walk rather than just talking the talk when it comes to attending events.

Have a great time, and find good wifi!
