Jason Brown

That actually does not seem that odd to me. Rather than thinking about how to land the jump or worrying about falling, your mind is thinking about setting up for the next jump... and you have to land the first one to enter the combo. I could see some skaters having an easier time not psyching themselves out with a combo as it gives them something else to focus on rather than so much pressure on landing the jump. It could be a way to trick your brain so to speak - you dread/worry too much, your mind has a way to make it happen. I could see how focusing on setting up for the next jump could be a way to avoid focusing on self-doubt.

on a totally unrelated note... i just loved the little intro side step Jason does in his SP so much I had to gif it.

I don't know why, but I really really like it.

I like that too! It's kind if a tap-dancey thing.

Hmmmmm. You know. It makes a lot of sense. Especially since a 3T....is an easy jump for him. I mean I'm assuming.

And now the Kween weighs in ... Michelle Kwan congratulates Jason on the quad-triple combo:

(I don't seem to be able to isolate the actual tweet from Doug Mattis' feed, but he tags Michelle on the instagram and she says "way to go Jason!" Also, on the original tweet, some poster tweets replies at length about Jason's flaws, but at least lack of musicality is not among them:rolleye:)

Should be at the bottom of this link

Also, it seems that Patrick Commentates as well as Lutz and Glory have moved over to team Jason. They do a respectable job of shutting down the ever faithful naysayer that always comes out to play.

Ha ha I noticed that! Patrick especially appears to have gone from very Jason-skeptic to "Stop kicking the puppy!" Love it

I think, Stitch, you've hit the mark with doing better with combos and difficult entrances. After all, Jason has said in at least one interview that Riverdance was very difficult, but that was good because he didn't have time to worry about any element afterwards or before. The elements just came - bam! bam! bam! - and he just had to do them without any extra worry-time. Especially the Axel seems to be a mental issue - whether it works or not I mean.

Mr Flanagan's arguments are tiresome (and also incorrect. Jason hasn't had a downgrade called on his 3A since...er...probably since JGP Turkey all those years ago.).

Quite a lot of figure skating is mental. It doesn't surprise me that Jason finds it easier to do 3As and 4Ts from more difficult entrances or in combo.

Actually he got a downgrade at worlds this year... but i think that was his only DG last year.

I know we all like our details here so I hope no one thinks I am being catty.

I am glad that they have adopt the stop kicking the puppy attitude as TMC called it. Even if they don't like Jason they at least appear to respect him and not like people making stupid comments about him. His work ethic is hard not to respect. Flanagan... i wonder if there is a bit of a troll component to his comments... they were rather predictable.

I have been trying to find video of Jason saying his name. It should be easy...but no luck so far. I expect it is on his instagram somewhere..

but I found this vid of a Jason 2011 interview which makes it clear that Jason just pwned the US Senior Nationals 2011 FS, despite only finishing ninth :laugh2:

He says it at the start of this clip

I love old clips like the one you posted... people like to try to make Jason out to be a surprise hit at Nationals 2014.... no he had been simmering for a number of years. He was there for all to see, just not many were paying attention.

Hi Doris glad you liked them. And as always thx for updates to this thread! Here are two more things in case you want to include them:

Short from Nepela:

Free skate from Nepela:

Stitch might be able to drop the 2 quad clips from Coach Vincent into YouTube so you can add those - sorry don't know how.

I went a head and added the Nepala videos you linked.

I also found the Instagram web links and added those also.

Thank you. :) (This time I didn't like to say - I can't always be moaning, can I?;))

Honestly I don't mind, really I am unlikely to think to do stuff like this unless it is pointed out to me.

Plus to be honest I do kinda like to put it on youtube so i can watch it in slow motion.

Added both YT quad clips. If you don't mind, I also pulled out the Aerial Challenge videos to put under the Broadmoor Open section; I gave you credit.

Not a problem at all, they are posted to be shared. Thank you for the credit and all your hard work on this.
