Jason Brown

He looks great! And something about his skating seems different to me, but I'm having a hard time articulating what it is. Straighter back? More "decisive" movement? Or is it just that we haven't seen this program much?

At any rate, the man bun is down, and with luck we'll see clips of the SP tomorrow night!

ETA: looks like Jason skates last (again!) tomorrow night:

I think I see what you mean, but I'm not sure either what it is exactly... More definition? More authority?

Anyway, I was surprised how much this program has grown on me. I remember being perfectly fine with it - but not being mesmerised! It gave me chills...

ETA - All right, having now (obsessively) rewatched it a few times, there is a word that comes to mind - but I'm afraid it won't be helpful as most of you probably won't understand what I mean anyway. Plushy-esque. It's not a matter of style, but essence - and nobody has "it" more than Plush, so for that reason - and because I'm an uber (that's actually one of the reasons I am an uber) - it is what I reference when I see... "it".

It's a kind of... feline assurance.

What a perfect choice of words to describe it. Perfect! Feline assurance... I know you think I'm probably exaggerating, but just reading those words literally gave me chills :eeking:

I would have said "maturity", but yours is vastly, vastly better and more accurate!

Hey stranger!

Tonight, tonight, tonight! Glacier Falls Men's SP is tonight!

In the meantime, here is a Plushy 2008 show program, I think, where more feline assurance is on display:

Not sure if this is what LRK had in mind but it has some incredible footwork!

Also, here is my all-time favorite Rohene unbelievably sexy show program:

@Tavi & TMC - Thank you both so much for understanding what I meant, and not thinking I'm totally out of my mind! :)

The Jason development, I'd describe as that before he was a kitten - and now he's a full-grown cat.:) (I always think of Plushy as a cat, and that's not only his being able to land on his feet - it's how I came to really "understand" him, I think. Sometimes a cat can be in a playful, friendly mood - sometimes they're in killer/stalker mode. But a cat is always and foremost itself.) Jason's always been a showman - he's always had the things that I value in a skater (and the reason I'm a Jason fan): Charisma, Personality, Presence. Now that added feline assurance, and... chills.:) (I've completely lost count of how many times I've now watched that Sam Smith program - and I didn't even think I cared for it that much the other time I saw him skate to it. In fact, it was Tavi's remark about there being something different about Jason that made me feel curious enough look it up - until then, I'd thought "Oh, not Canned Heat then?" in disappointment, and not felt in any hurry to watch it. Little did I know... )

ETA - Tavi, that is exactly what I meant! Then, as an uber, if I may... :)

ETA 2 - TMC - I think lots of skaters have "maturity" - but "feline assurance" very, very few...

Wow that's beautiful, thank you! So expressive and beautiful upper body. And he's so young there. I would love to see Jason attempt that kind of fast footwork.

OK, organizing committee, ice network and or fancams, do your thing!

ETA: typing while Stitch was posting, thx!:agree:

*scramblescramblescramble*

3F-3T, 3A, 3Lz. No marker for quad but opening choreo gives some room for it. Gorgeous program as always. Still unsure about that onesie. 3A looked around but I'm less pleased with the entry; he's stalking the damn thing again.

He'll have crowds on their feet all over the world with this one. It's exquisite and entrancing.

Wow! Thank you! I've difficulty seeing much (my eyesight is terrible), and even so... it's amazing! (shakes head in wonderment) And, again, I thought it was perfectly fine at TCC, but... this?! He really, really has got "it" now - and I love that "it" is present in a competetive program as well. I don't want to jinx him but really... I think this season may well... no, I'll say no more!

*coughing fit*

Um, yeah, that score. Oh my. Now that's some inflation if ever I saw it - love his skating but that was not a 95 program.

Loving club comp scores .... but looking at what they gave Vincent Zhou (who is good, but scarcely Jason in presentation), they had to compensate.;)

Now for the *important* matters ... the pony is just as long, but did Jason escape Rohene and the Evil Hair Darkener (I do like Jason's natural shade)? Can't tell with the fuzzy fancam; one can only hope!

Well, he has been in the L.A. area for a little while now. Either his has had to the chance to leave it alone and perhaps give it some sun, or he has gotten in touch with whatever (assuming price) $$$$$$$ salon Gracie has been going to.

I'll ignore the score, but for reference his personal best TES internationally is 45.98.

Anyway, he's looking good for this time in the season. I agree the opening choreo gives room for a 4T-3T in lieu of the 3F-3T. In any case a far improvement from last year's Glacier FALLS.
