That's a very smart approach from Kori...

Yes, IMO. The Piano and Inner Love are just on another plane of existence.
IMO his skating has improved in the past few years and merits the increased PCS. Working on the Piano and Inner Love has improved his speed, edges, and flow over the ice a lot. His presentation is more seamless and polished. I also think these programs showcase his SS and the unique things he does so beautifully - the teardrop spin and the spiral, for example. I think it was these two programs that woke the judges up and made them realize how good a skater he actually is. I also think he's stronger and his jumps are generally bigger and more beautiful, which contributes to the overall perception of great presentation.
I am sitting in the middle of mess and boxes before moving out, but thought to pop up there at least to congratulate Jason for a great, strong showing and sliver medal at Skate Canada
I agree with most of You above - these programs are stretching Jason's skill and approach towards skating I think, and it shows in scores (PCS especially). Both programs are playing on a very personal, customized note - and there is definitely a challenge to expand the skating, making it more universal and accessible - admirable, even - through putting so much stress over highlighting personal abilities, way of expression and movement, no necessary throwing multile new technical skills and doing a 're-branding' to fit into image presented by other successful - and admirable - skaters. I think that Jason's example once again, season after season, is showing people that there is a dimiension, the novelty to be found in basically everyone, especially if embraced in such great way Jason did it.
What got me the most, is how integrated and maturely conscious both programs already are - and what is even more spendid is that his signature skills were intergrated there in such intricate, subtle way. While his SP excels on performance directed 'out-there' (with very exuberant, yet controlled manner), FS is more about 'drawing-in' quality (still very open and about freedom, but with this hint of mystery, something spiritual/unspoken left in the air). What I love about both materials, is the attention put so hard on the quality of movement and musicality of gesture/expression - both programs are heavily related and depended on a fluid connection between skater, his movement and the music in my opinion; it takes quite a control, balance and ability to work so organic-like with the rhythm/beat AND melody through choreography Jason has AND to make it click with the audience on the same, strong level of engagement.
Both programs, how they were performed foremost at SC proved for me Jason's insane versatility and ability to adapt his skating/skill into different environments, making them work equally strong and well. I admire his ehtic of showing the effort to build a performance in multi-layered way, conveying the technicalities/skill and putting his own reflection emotionally on it. I think that he's one of few performers out there who can move the audience equally by loudness and simplicity, mostly how he uses them, not how he packages them.
And I'm taking the great memory of his clean quad at practice, inspiring performance and true joy emitted with me, to cheer me up in some worse days![]()
Jason should wear the pants he wore for his gala routine. Really beautiful.
Congratulations Jason!

I think all his efforts to land the quad have added strength and speed to his skating. Certainly I have never seen him land as gorgeous a 3A3T.
And now he has been seen landing a clean 4T in a competition practice...I think that helps.
Plus with everyone chasing more and better quads, that's all they have time to work on. So most all the guys' spins are markedly just not as good as Jason's.

I seriously think they should consider that, the next time she performs that program for a gala and Jason is present
The new Ex was just *MWAH* :luv17: Maybe not as flashy as Canned Heat, but I really adored the subdued depth in his interpretation, which was touching. He represented a character so not him (an awkward introvert with severe social issues) and he nailed it with such quiet, yet intense passion. So happy to witness yet another gem coming from him!
BTW am I the only one who half expected him to skip into the scene and join Laurine, playing Travolta while she was performing "You are the one I want" for a little duet section, and a bit disappointed that it didn't happen?I seriously think they should consider that, the next time she performs that program for a gala and Jason is present

So cool, first Lin-Manuel and now the official Dear Evan Hansen site
I have to say, I watch with the sound turned down. I am not a fan of this tune. And unlike Hamilton, where I can see from the start how it could grow on me, eh, no.
But I am glad to see so many other Jason fans love it, it means I am an outlier, and others will love it!:agree2: And *that's* what counts......
