FYI both Jason and Karen are in Sean Rabbit's current IG Story.Posted 42 mins ago so it should be up for a while.
What's different about Jason's hair? He looks good!
Thanks for the heads up; I must admit, I really like Sean, but he posts so many IG stories that sometimes I close before it cycles through all of them. But since Sean almost always answers comments, I was thinking of asking in a comment (I never would have, but I was thinking
) now I don’t need to.....

So does that mean Tammy Gammill is on the short list of possible new coaches for Jason? Or is IceTown just on Jason's tour of SoCal ice rinks? LOL

Does Vincent Zhou actually train at Icetown? Wasn’t Tammy in the KnC with him? Or am I completely wrong? And it looks like Ricky Dormbush is there too? Aren’t he and Rohene thick as thieves now?
Can Anthony come up once or twice a week?
And yes, Jason is either doing ombré or the desert sun is catching up with him.

I’m glad Karen looks happy!
Re hair in story: it looks like it’s lighter from the sun. But the main thing is it’s been straightened but instead of being skinned back tightly it seems looser - with a side part and short pieces on the opposite side. He may have had it cut, but without seeing the back it’s hard to tell. But yeah, it looks good- and he looks happy, too!

HA, yeah! So I totally spaced out, so Indian Wells is like RIGHT NOW, LOL. For some reason I was thinking it was like in the near future. And I guess I technically was right.
So now I'm really hoping he got to see Serena because she made her comeback here, like this evening (she won in easy fashion, WOOOOO).
Okay, also he's been wearing that Team USA hat A LOOOOOTTT. Like I know he loves representing Team USA, but I can't help but wonder if perhaps there's a new hairdo he's hiding on social media until he's ready to make the big reveal, LOL. If you look at the series of photos he posted a few days ago, he's wearing the hat on the front in the portrait with his parents and then turns it around for the photos with his back facing the camera. Inquiring minds....
Or maybe he's just feeling extra patriotic. Or I'm just so bored and curious for concrete news I'm creating new theories.

Not related, but I made a somewhat unholy happy squeaking noise when I saw your avatar then frantically waved at it for like a minute.
I'm cool, I'm okay.
I'm starting to sway to Mrs P's Anthony Liu theory. It fits what we know, it fits the area...yeah, I think it could work. The other suggestion is that this may mean Tammy Gambill, who might have an opening now that she doesn't have Ricky or Brendan and shares Vincent with two other coaches.

Neither Brendan nor Ricky D had consistent quads with her, and Vincent has basically moved to CS to work on jumps with Christy Krall and Tom Z. Karen has big jumps but struggles to control them. And all of them, except maybe Vincent, have struggled with competitive consistency. So it’s not clear to me why Tammy G would be a good choice if his biggest sticking point is getting a consistent 3A and quads.
All of them have really nice basics -- really good skating skills.
Riverdale (where Tammy is) and Palm Springs are about 1 hour apart, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility for Jason to take on Tammy as a secondary coach. There's a reason Vincent still has her as a coach part-time. And don't forget Vincent did a stint with Tammy too after 7k, so clearly there's something appealing about the training conditions there.
Or maybe he was just visiting because there wasn't available ice time in Palm Springs that day. He also did some training in Torrance too.

That's my leaning, especially since Tammy is in Europe. Maybe he just wanted a play date with Karen.

Yeah, I thought about the fact that they all have good basics (except Vincent’s spins!) and should have acknowledged that. I think she’s also quite well connected, ie she has served on USFS committees in the past. So I do think that she could be part of a good team, especially if Frank wants to avoid coaching elite skaters even part time.
But I would be concerned if she’s his primary coach, because even though Brendan, Ricky, and Vincent all apparently learned quads with her, and were sometimes able to do really good ones in competition, they were never able to do so consistently. So I fear that’s what would happen with Jason.
Based on her behavior in the knc, Tammy also seems to be kind of a nurturing, “motherly” coach like Kori, and while I can see how that might be comfortable for him, if part of this journey is about becoming an adult man, I’m wondering if she would be the best choice from that standpoint. On the other hand, he’d surely enjoy training with Karen and Sean. In any case it’s up to him, do we’ll just have to see!
ETA if the tennis game was in LA, maybe he practiced there because the rink is closer to LA.
Indian Wells is in the Palm Springs area. It's in the opposite direction from Palm Springs than Riverside.
Who is Tammy at junior worlds with? None of the U.S. single skaters are coached by her and Amy Lin (who was a Tammy student) from TPE is now with Raf's team.

Agree that Gambill is well-connected.
She also is on the USFS Board of Directors as a coaching member. I believe she is up for re-election to the board.

No idea about Tammy.
What strikes me is that this the second picture he’s posted with his parents (well in this case with his mom) within the past week. With the training photos mixed in, it does suggest to me he’s relocating there. P
