^^^I don't have to look em up either ... awesome choice and cannot wait to see the skate. With David Wilson behind it I am sure the program is stunning! Love S&G's The Boxer too (Leonard Nimoy's favorite song) but it would be hard to skate to, I think...

FS Music: “Old Friends/Bookends/Hazy Shade of Winter” by Simon and Garfunkel

Well, it's not classical and it's not a war horse and I already own the songs so I approve.

As do I, though I am very suprised. Since I'm of a certain age, I went to a couple of S & G concerts and am a fan. Let's just say I'm curious how this turns out.

Yatagarasu, I agree that the music suits him -- in fact I think it will have kind of a similar feel to The Piano FS. But what strikes me is that neither program has any pep/broadway/performance. Both seem extremely introspective, which is kind of a departure from the "one is peppy, the other is introspective" pattern he used to take under Kori.

Bite your tongue, Mrs. P! I refuse to endure a fourth year in a row of a Piano-like program, so I will not agree that it has the same feel. ;) I am a bit surprised that the long doesn't have more peppy music. He does so well when he can get the audience involved. Time will tell. Soon enough.

To be clear, I don't think it's going to be a carbon copy, but just more that it seems like he's going to take the more introspective interpretative route with the FS. I think the program will actually look pretty different. A Hazy Shade of Winter is actually some what upbeat.

Wow, I think I’m gonna have to wait and see on this one.

Next week for you! :) Exciting.

I will say that the program could run the risk of being similar to Patrick Chan's programs from last season and his Beatles SP the season before that. But yeah, it's definitely hard to say without seeing Jason skate to it.

But at least it's not music commonly used in skating -- I'm sure people have skated to S&G, but nothing's top of mind at this point.

This makes perfect sense to me. He is saying goodbye and thank you to his old friends, his old life and the innocence of that time, and expressing hope for his new life. It's loving and optimistic, two things that define Jason at his best. And he can get the audience clapping along to Hazy Shade of Winter. I can't wait to see this!

Well, I would have thought Sound of Silence would have been the worst tune ever for a skate.:eeking:

But Elladj Balde made me a believer, so who knows about Jason's S&G? (But not in the cover, no one will ever make me like that Sounds of Silence cover)

Sorry for the silly question but what songs has Jason chosen for this season?
I kinda want to imagine him skating to it with his new hairdo in mind.
And his costume too, I am really anticipating a very freshing new feel from him.

If you go back a few screens, you will see the link to the Simon & Garfunkel songs that make up Jason’s LP.

His SP is “Love is a B****” by someone called Two Feet:biggrin:

I am really excited about Jason's music choices. Overall, I'm really excited to see him approach this season with all the positive changes he has made- it was hard seeing him struggle last season. I hope he enjoys this season!

Thought this was interesting/cute, so I have to share...

US junior pairs skater Keenan Prochnow approves of Jason's SP music in a comment on an FS instagram site:

"Amazing choice with Two Feet, I’m very excited to see the program."

Plus I loooove that photo of Jason from SOI. Have we seen that before? Probably;)

And I loooove Keenan's IG handle "Keenan Prochlater" :laugh2:

I wonder how his style will be evolved after absorbing new ideas from his current training environment.

I have been wondering the same thing. Unsure what to think about the new songs. I guess I'll have to wait and see. Lucky the Autumn Classic is so soon.

Also, I have been curious what Jason is doing concerning college. Does he still have a Japanese tutor?

Just looked at the ISU World standings. For the start of this 2018-2019 season, Jason Brown is ranked 7th in the world! He has 3029 points for just the past two seasons. I remember hoping he would break into the top 10. Never did I dream he would get above 3000 points! He is the second ranked for USA (after Nathan Chen) and is just ahead of Botany Jin.

Oh, unhelpful autocorrect, I mean Botany Jin

I give up.

One more try, Jason is just ahead of Spiderman.

This was excellent, 5 stars :laugh2:

Botany Jin sounds like it could be a superhero name. If you have a plant emergency don't call Spiderman, call Botany Jin!

Really authentic, up front convo w/ @jasonbskates for forthcoming SKATING Mag piece: "I don’t know how stars are going to align [in 2022], but I’m so willing to take the time to do it right... [By going to 🇨🇦] I needed to figure out who I am as a person, who I am in this sport"

To be honest, it doesn’t mean very much - he’s been higher than 7th in the past and he’s been the top ranked American before. World Ranking not only reflects how well you do in certain competitions, but how many of them you do. Jason used to do two Challenger Series events and got more points for that - but this year he’s only scheduled for one.
