Have they announced that practices won’t be open to spectators? If so, I missed it.

Not sure where I saw it. I’ve looked at guidelines for Bridgestone Arena too. Attendees need to download something called Clear - Heath Pass - and fill out their information. There is a QR code on the website. It captures your Photo ID, face recognition, and vaccination info. You show when you enter the Arena along with ticket information.

I'm sure it doesn't hurt, but he's definitely a front runner for the team. He's been highly publicized by NBC and so has Nathan. Alysa has been fairly prominent as well. It's always good to see him featured.

everyone else seeing the COVID-19 situation at Nationals and feeling terrified for Jason? Honestly at this point I would have him withdraw and just petition the team (and Nathan and Vincent do the same) - this seems like a superspreader event and we know the men's team is locked in. Is it worth risking their olympic hopes for this one nationals??

On paper i like the idea, but in practice Jason likely can't

he has had a petition denied before.

And he did not do great at pre Olympic nationals last time.

I am not sure USFS has the brains to see the logic of this.

Nathan can get away with it and should... the fewer people the better i say.

But last time he petitioned AFTER his disastrous Nationals - I’m talking about him withdrawing before Nats - and his body of work to this point is better than any of the men below him. I think US should cancel Nats altogether and name the team, we clearly know who is going to be sent, they are just risking so many of their top talents and possible team medal.
They’ve already had one top skater test positive AT Nats whilst having practiced with other skaters ... I am horrified by this so close to the Olympics.

I am talking about the petition when he was injured for worlds.... 2016 i think.

I do think they should cancel nationals.

Have the top ladies still interested do a skate private test skate.

probably same for pairs at this point.

but this should not be happening.

I hate the idea of how many skaters likely don't want to do this. I recall Nathan made some comments about worlds last year that make me think he would be happier skipping this comp.

I'm TERRIFIED for the skaters. Seriously, the men's team is already a lock so USFS should send Jason (Nathan, Vincent and the 3 top Montreal teams) home. This is not worth it.

I just want to say how awesome would it be for the of them to withdraw/petition together as an act of solidarity.

THAT would be very powerful i think.
